Apparently we are headlining the tournament in Cancun. The other 3 teams are Auburn, Texas Tech and Utah State. Not a great tourney, but still some neutral court games always help.

Auburn might be improved, but it seems like Bruce Pearl and his cronies are recruiting very randomly (as long as they're highly-athletic and/or high-volume shooters), like they're throwing crap at a wall and hoping most of it sticks. So, maybe they won't be improved. I have no idea about Texas Tech or Utah State, but with the nucleus Purdue should have returning, my first inkling would be they will do well.

What are the dates of this tourney? posted anywhere yet?

That is an extremely weak tournament. Kind of disappointed about that. I hope we can find more competition outside of the ACC challenge and ND game in Indy. We should be a borderline Top 25 team to begin next year.

I just found a perfect reason to take my family to Mexico for a vacation. Reminds me of a friend of mine that told me every that every year her family went on vacation the Cubs seemed to be playing nearby. never knew her dad but am sure I would have liked him.

It would be nice to kick the crap out of some bad high majors at the start of the season and the players get a nice little vacation. I'll take it, better then playing mid majors at home. Hopefully we schedule a few top 25 teams non conf next season too.

Both men and women play.
Men - 11/22-23 - Tue/Wed
Women - 11/24-26 Thu-Sat

This is Thanksgiving week. Tough sell to the family, but I'm working on it.

Keep in mind the Big East/Big Ten deal. We didn't participate this year. Not sure if we're slated to next year or not, but I'd guess yes.

We looked into going, decided against it.

Call the John Purdue Club they have flyers and also can sell the package to you directly. It's at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya. $1,180 per person. Includes all games and hotel (4 nights). Does not include air fare. Would be awesome to see PU in such a small venue (about 10 rows max), but timing just didn't work for our family. I hope some on here are able to go and give a first person account for those of us stuck back here!!

This is a 8 team field, the other 4 teams have not been announced yet. It's two divisions...Purdue is in the Riviera division with the other three teams announced. The Mayan division hasn't been announced yet. Think I read that the 4 teams from each division will play a team from the opposite division. All 8 teams I believe will go to cancun
