And he would like to do it this year, but another in the 5 needs to improve the situation, A lot of posters didn’t want to see Trey at the 4 last year. Could you imagine this team had Trey just now starting to get minutes on the court?CMP has guys where he wants them given the injury he had in DJ and the talent deficit he sees in others.
Ideally CMP had TKR @ the 4 to start the season until DJ went down. I imagine that's what he goes back to next year.
Regardless of position, Trey is their best ‘go to’ scoring option. He needs to get better against doubles and they need to find a way to get him the ball when teams are scheming to take it away.is it better to keep TKR at 4, his best position with RB backup and Caleb/Berg 5?
Small ball fun at times, but puts two guys out of position
Feeding TKR like he’s ZE isn’t winning against good teams. Need to work outside in
Just thinking
Would be helpful if Myles and Cam drove the ball effectively and elevated in the lane under controlis it better to keep TKR at 4, his best position with RB backup and Caleb/Berg 5?

The triumvirate has such a Roman feel! 😁Regardless of position, Trey is their best ‘go to’ scoring option. He needs to get better against doubles and they need to find a way to get him the ball when teams are scheming to take it away.
The amount of fouling that was allowed yesterday was ridiculous, but that’s going to happen outside of Mackey. This team needs to get used to it and embrace the physicality.
I don’t know what the right lineup is but the triumvirate needs to play better when they’re the center of attention without Zach and everyone else needs to step up and make teams pay when they ignore them. Colvin and Heide combining for 2-9 on open looks from three isn’t going to cut it against solid competition.
I don’t know how (or if) they get there but the more games they play the more I’m convinced that this team’s ceiling lies in those two being able to hit open shots and put the ball on the floor.Would be helpful if Myles and Cam drove the ball effectively and elevated in the lane under control
Agreed and don't expect Colvin and Heide to shoot as poorly moving forward. They should have shot more yesterday but didn't after missing first couple. Both are capable shooters and need to shoot when open to spread out the D more. I'm sure when the coaches review the film they will tell TKR to be more aggressive and make sure he's doubled before trying to pass.Regardless of position, Trey is their best ‘go to’ scoring option. Berg and Furst combined for 1 Reb in 18 minutes. I don’t think personnel was the issue. The tapping of balls back is frustrating. Guys need to go up strong with both hands.is it better to keep TKR at 4, his best position with RB backup and Caleb/Berg 5?

It is hard for me to grasp, but until the three ball was fully entrenched, that ability was a staple of playI don’t know how (or if) they get there but the more games they play the more I’m convinced that this team’s ceiling lies in those two being able to hit open shots and put the ball on the floor.
Neither of them have shown the ability to dribble against pressure. That type of ball handling skill takes a long time to develop and if it's not part of their game by now, not sure we'll see much of it.I don’t know how (or if) they get there but the more games they play the more I’m convinced that this team’s ceiling lies in those two being able to hit open shots and put the ball on the floor.
No you didn't.Berg cannot guard a quick big guy like Payne yesterday…too slow afoot in cement. Furst is an enigma…promising freshman year…then downhill since. This problem at center will plague Purdue all season. Our season went “south” when Danielsen( got it spelled right this time) was injured.
I will ask you the questions I asked on another thread. It would be helpful. Do they have the handles to do so against the better teams, with good to great athletes?Would be helpful if Myles and Cam drove the ball effectively and elevated in the lane under control

Which is crazy because it should actually be easier to penetrate against hard close outs and defenses focused on not allowing uncontested threes. As someone else posted, I think it’s a comfort / confidence issue with those two.It is hard for me to grasp, but until the three ball was fully entrenched, that ability was a staple of play
Not the person you asked, but it depends upon the situation. Both have decent but certainly not great handles. If you’re dribbling into traffic against strong defenses, that’s not good. If you’re getting iso coverage because teams are focused on taking away the big three and closing out hard on threes, their handles are more than good enough, imo.I will ask you the questions I asked on another thread. Let Burgess play significant minutes at the 5 …and develop. Anyway…we will lose a number of games during the season without a true center with the current lineup.
While I agree with this, I’m hoping CMP will add a 5 from the transfer portal for next season. Payne would make this team a title contender this year. I’m hoping we get a Payne or Wolf (from Michigan) type player for next year.Berg cannot guard a quick big guy like Payne yesterday…too slow afoot in cement.
