The Tyre Nichols story (like never told before)

New Netflix Series On Tyre Nichols Beating To Feature White Officers

LOS GATOS, CA — Netflix announced they have acquired the rights to tell the tragic story of Tyre Nichols' death at the hands of 5 black police officers. Leadership at the streaming giant confirmed the police officers will be portrayed by white actors.

"While we know the 5 officers who killed Nichols were factually black, it is also clear that they were morally white," said Netflix VP of Inclusion Vernā Myers. "Since TV is a visual medium, we want to convey to the viewer that these officers had the invisible specter of white supremacy flowing through their veins."

According to sources, the five officers guilty of the brutal beating will be played by unknown actors Wyatt Smith, Scott Peasley, Benedict Higgins, Steve O'Murphy, and Karen McMinnahan. The rest of the 283-person cast will be filled by people of color to fulfill diversity requirements.

Showrunner Nina Myers, a trans woman of color who has never directed a film before, vowed to bring the story to life in a way that modern audiences will connect with. "We vow to do this story justice... social justice," she said. "Now more than ever, viewers need to be reminded that whiteness is to blame for everything bad in the world. They then need to be beaten over the head with that message over and over again until they finally admit they're upholding a racist system. That's the very purpose of television entertainment."

At publishing time, the 5 white actors had been canceled for taking acting jobs away from people of color.

Women years ago and today?

An interesting short video between Jordan Peterson (who most “should” know) and Erik Kaufmann a self-described liberal national conservative. The conversation gets into changes primarily with women over time as primary predictors for woke today and historically whatever the dominant ideology of the past. It talks about the shift and differences in women in the 70s and today. Quite interesting…could a maternal instinct be in play?

NO TAX ON TIPS

Anytime corrupt politicians let the public keep more of their $ I am all for it. So no tax on tips scores well with me as it does a majority.

Interesting that polling shows.....
68% for it.

But if asked should we do a recent Trump proposal, no tax on tips.....62% for it. LOL. Evidence of crazed emotional DEMS still with TDS. So irrationally emotional!

The main reason I will vote against Biden are the prices, due to his green energy inflation. But tax issues is the 2nd reason I will vote Trump. He cut my taxes last time, and he is showing willingness to extend those same tax cuts again.

Summer practice T&O's (thoughts and observations) part 2

The freshmen were a lot of fun to watch yesterday. They exceeded expectations at times, looked like freshmen at times, and had a couple highlights that made the future look real bright.

But the freshmen weren't the only ones to watch at practice yesterday. While Purdue's season stretched all the way to the final game, its returning players didn't seem all that interested in taking much time off before getting back in the gym. In the locker room immediately after Purdue's loss to UConn, TKR told me he had a five day rest plan then it was back in. Braden Smith said a couple days, maybe, and well, after watching some of the key pieces from last year for the first time in a couple months, it's clear they didn't waste their summer.

Purdue is going to be a lot of fun next year, and there's two players in particular who looked to be aggressive in a way that foreshadowed break out performances for both...

2024 Freshmen Who Can Make An Impact This Season

I have been wondering who in the 2024 Freshmen Class will make an impact on the field this season.

We’ll Hammer & Rails has an article that list 5.

1. Tarrion Grant - CB
2. Koy Beasley - S
3. Jayden Ball - OL
4. Ty Hudkins - S
5. Spencer Porath - K

Tarrion and Koy is too good not to play. It will be interesting to see Tarrion lock horns with Jeremiah Smith in the Ohio State game.

Ty is working hard to become Thienemen’s backup.

Jayden Ball is a pleasant surprise.

Surprised Luke Williams in not on the list. Luke will play Safety along with Koy Beasley. Most likely backing up Rogers Jr.
Maybe we will have a lot of subs in the DB room. Too much talent not to rotate.

Spencer, yes we need some kicking help. Last year’s kicking game was painful to see, especially the Ohio State game.

Question to ponder about recruiting in the NIL era......

With Purdue basketball being the flagship power-5 outlier that holds out and does it the old-fashioned way by recruiting/developing players, does it widen the recruiting landscape for high school seniors that still want to play and look for a traditional-built team? The comradery and team chemistry that they are used to in high school.

Purdue men's basketball Week 2 of Summer practice T&O (thoughts and observations)

Maybe I'm a sicko, but there's not much better than the first couple weeks of summer basketball practices. It's the first glimpse of freshmen - players who have existed in high school gyms, on YouTube clips, and projected in a myriad of ways. Watching them grapple with college ball, college players, and Purdue's scheme and rules makes for riveting watching.

Last year, it was only Myles Colvin to watch and his time was cut short by Team USA activities. There was a lot less unknown last year, but this year? Everywhere you look there are new freshmen.

However there were two freshman that weren't available. We'll get to that in a bit, but first -

The three freshmen all stood out in different ways - it's pretty clear from first look that Matt Painter appears to have done it again.

The highlights? Jacobsen's size, throwing down alley oop dunks and getting out in transition.

That was good, but it wasn't THE highlight.

Raleigh Burgess being both bigger and more filled out than anticipated? Also he can shoot? Nope, not that either.

It was one play, a tiny play, just a little disturbance in a back and forth offense-defense scrimmage that had my spidey-senses blaring because it's something I'd been looking forward to since CJ Cox committed to Purdue...

Media brands Republican a racist...... what's new?

An inarticulate Repub with a history of saying unartful language was talking again

This time she says....

Here’s a tip – If you don’t like America, kindly, get the f*** out.”

Immediately the media brands her a racist. In the meantime, race baiters will get all over this & pile on......wait for it.....

Purdue football 71 Days to Purdue Football: Corey Stewart

USATSI_18965528.jpg
Corey Stewart - Sr.
Nashville, TN (Ball State)
6'6", 305 pounds
Offensive Line
2024 Projection: Contributor

The theme of depth up front continues, as Ryan Walters will have plenty of options for offensive line combinations. Stewart comes to Purdue as a grad transfer with 28 consecutive starts at either left or right tackle for the Cardinals.

That experience could lead to him taking the fifth spot along the offensive line. He may start at left tackle and allow Mahamane Moussa to move inside to left guard. With Stewart and Marcus Mbow on the ends, Moussa and DJ Wingfield as the guards, and Gus Hartwig in the middle Purdue appears to have a very solid offensive line. There is also proven depth there with Josh Sales, Jalen Grant, and Luke Griffin, plus former 4-star prospect Joey Tanona.

Great policy from a Dem......

Although not the first state & many schools have already done this....NY Dem Gov pushes for phone restrictions for kids. Good first step. Probably doesn't go far enough. But cell phone apps are one of the most destructive things youth can pursue. Notice it says nothing about smart watches. Anyway, no doubt court fights are coming....

But got to say.....I'm impressed.

Here is more on the "debate"

Which frosh guard

is going to take Lance's role as chief stopper on D in the back court? i see raves about both guys but i've not seen them personally or watched film. Harris seems to be much more highly thought of in general, but we all know Matt's eye for diamonds not highly polished yet. They won't play as much of course, but we'll need a 'stopper' (to the best of their ability) back there. Hopefully Fletch and Braden take another step in their D as not having Z rim protecting is going to make them have to stay in front of their man.
