Purdue men's basketball NBA Draft Watch Party - Zach Edey goes where?

We're just a half hour away from the start of the NBA Draft where Purdue's 2X player of the year, Zach Edey, will take another incredible step from unheralded high school prospect to best player in college to now the NBA.

Painter said he expects if Edey gets through the lottery without being drafted, that teams will be trading back up to get him. That fits in line with what I've seen and heard. It should be an exciting time for Purdue fans as it gets to watch another Boiler get drafted in the first round.

There's a few teams I'm eyeing, mostly contenders, but do we have some guesses on where the big man will go? Draft starts at 8 on ESPN.

Purdue recruiting Lebron Hill flips to Purdue

🚨🚨FLIP ALERT: 2025 three-star WR Lebron Hill has flipped his commitment from Louisville to Purdue. He becomes the first receiver in the class for the Boilers.

Miami Heat Q&A

From the Fort Lauderdale newspaper column Ask Ira :

Q: Sure hope Zach Edey’s there when the Heat pick. He’s more athletic than most people realize, and while not fat, he’s also not in Heat shape. Edey at 280 would still be a giant, but shedding 20 pounds would improve all his agility aspects. The Heat as we all know suffered from lack of rebounding, offensive rebounding, rim protection and easy buckets. He checks all those boxes. We had far too many empty possessions the past few years and Edey would give us easier two-point opportunities plus open up 3s with a much higher offensive-rebounding percentage with him underneath. – Brian, Fort Lauderdale.

A: But drafting Zach Edey, if he is there for the Heat, also has to factor in whether Erik Spoelstra would play two big men together, whether Bam Adebayo can increase his 3-point volume, and whether there is a Heat defensive system than can counter Edey’s limited mobility, no matter his playing weight.

Biden DOJ & Antisemitism ?????

Biden admin used the full scope and power of the US Govt to track down every one of the J6ers.

But another freedom under attack is the freedom to worship. Has ANYONE seen the DOJ go after the antisemitic DEM protesters in the colleges or in LA. Does the Biden administration support the Jewish freedom to worship?

Sure doesn't look like it in LA where the Hamas DEM crazies are rioting and blocking access to a synagogue. DOJ looks awol.

Biden 'appalled' by violence at LA synagogue, but DOJ won't say if it's seeking charges

Purdue football 67 Days to Purdue Football: Drew Woodruff

Drew Woodruff - So. (RS)
Louisville, KY (Trinity High School)
6-3, 285lbs.
Offensive Line
2024 Projection: Reserve

Woodruff was the part of two state championships at Trinity and was named an all-state honorable mention in Louisville and was first team in his district. According to the Purdue athletic website, he was also a wrestler in high school and excelled in the classroom, collecting academic all-state accolades. This past season, while redshirting, he was an Academic all-Big Ten selection.

This coming season he is likely a deep reserve, as many walk-on linemen are

Purdue lands Marian transfer Ella Collier

Purdue lands two-time NAIA National Player of the Year and former Marian guard, Ella Collier.

Collier averaged 19 points and 2.5 assists, shooting 40% from three last season.

Purdue football 68 Days to Purdue Football: Jimmy Liston

Jimmy Liston - Fr. (RS)
Hinsdale, IL (IMG Academy)
6'3", 305 pounds
Offensive Line
2024 Projection: Reserve

We continue to look at depth along the offensive line as a major strngth, and that is where Liston factors in. He played his final year of high school at the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida, then played in four games last year, mostly on special teams. He was able to hang on to his redshirt, so he still has four years of eligibility.

That's probably the best case scenario for a true freshman lineman. He was able to spend the year developing and growing, but he also got a little bit of experience. If anything, his play on special teams takes plays away from other guys and saves some wear and tear. Look for him to do more of the same this year while vying for a spot on the two deep.
