We're just a half hour away from the start of the NBA Draft where Purdue's 2X player of the year, Zach Edey, will take another incredible step from unheralded high school prospect to best player in college to now the NBA.

Painter said he expects if Edey gets through the lottery without being drafted, that teams will be trading back up to get him. That fits in line with what I've seen and heard. It should be an exciting time for Purdue fans as it gets to watch another Boiler get drafted in the first round.

There's a few teams I'm eyeing, mostly contenders, but do we have some guesses on where the big man will go? Draft starts at 8 on ESPN.

Q: Sure hope Zach Edey’s there when the Heat pick. He’s more athletic than most people realize, and while not fat, he’s also not in Heat shape. Edey at 280 would still be a giant, but shedding 20 pounds would improve all his agility aspects. The Heat as we all know suffered from lack of rebounding, offensive rebounding, rim protection and easy buckets. He checks all those boxes. We had far too many empty possessions the past few years and Edey would give us easier two-point opportunities plus open up 3s with a much higher offensive-rebounding percentage with him underneath. – Brian, Fort Lauderdale.

I like what I saw in his limited minutes mop up duty. The guy isn't a stiff and can get up/down the floor. Showed a nice jumper and handles in training videos.

Woodruff was the part of two state championships at Trinity and was named an all-state honorable mention in Louisville and was first team in his district. According to the Purdue athletic website, he was also a wrestler in high school and excelled in the classroom, collecting academic all-state accolades. This past season, while redshirting, he was an Academic all-Big Ten selection.

Purdue lands two-time NAIA National Player of the Year and former Marian guard, Ella Collier.

Collier averaged 19 points and 2.5 assists, shooting 40% from three last season.

It will most likely be their only big payday.

We continue to look at depth along the offensive line as a major strngth, and that is where Liston factors in. He played his final year of high school at the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida, then played in four games last year, mostly on special teams. He was able to hang on to his redshirt, so he still has four years of eligibility.

That's probably the best case scenario for a true freshman lineman. He was able to spend the year developing and growing, but he also got a little bit of experience. If anything, his play on special teams takes plays away from other guys and saves some wear and tear. Look for him to do more of the same this year while vying for a spot on the two deep.
