Sorry I am late on this one, but what hasn't been said about Thieneman at this point? He had about as good of a true freshman season as you can ask for from a 3 star recruit. He won multiple National Freshman of the Year awards by notching 106 tackles and six interceptions.

And in Purdue’s defensive scheme you can't go away from him. His range and positioning make him a factor in every play.

After years of seeing an Anthrop in the No. 33 spot it is still strange to see someone else there. For the second straight year it is Mr. Jackson here.

Jackson played in high school at Lawrence Central in Indianapolis, and he is intriguing because he was a track standout that also played running back and returner in football. Purdue's return game last year was forgettable at best, so there is an opportunity there for a guy with speed to make a big difference. He reported running a 6.77-second 60-yard dash and a 10.47-second 100-yard dash, both of which are school records for Lawrence Central. According to his MaxPreps profile, he racked up 1,237 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground over the last two seasons. Jackson also saw time at receiver, cornerback, and kick returner.

Jefferson is entering his third year in the program and he has shown steady progress each season. He played in the blowout of Indiana State in 2022, but was able to still redshirt. Last year he played in 11 of 12 games, but mostly on special teams. He did get a pair of tackles against Indiana.

At Pike HS he recorded 75 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, four interceptions and one forced fumble on his way to first team all-state honors as a senior, which was quite impressive considering that Pike was 1-9 in his senior season. He also wrestled and ran track there.

Jefferson's development should lead to more time on the field this year. This is a great chance for him to crack the two-deep, especially since he is a holdover from the Brohm era.

Purdue is going to move 2 of its volleyball games to Mackey Arena this season to take advantage of the much larger seating capacity. Games are Indiana on October 19 and Wisconsin on October 26. Tickets go on sale August 6 for the JPC and August 7 for the general public.

After sending out three offers earlier this week, two more came on Sunday, both prospects out of Utah.

The first was 6-foot-10 big man Jalyn Sondrup, who also holds offers from Utah, BYU, Cal, Arizona State, and Washington.

Sondrup averaged 19.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game last year while shooting 60% from the floor and 37% from three.

The other was four-star guard Junior County, who also has offers from Houston, TCU, BYU, Stanford, Utah, and Utah State.

What's happening with walk-ons and scholarships?​

In the interest of removing as many universal caps on compensation as possible, the NCAA and conferences also agreed to get rid of the current rules that limit the number of scholarships allowed for each team. To keep the richest teams from stockpiling players, the NCAA will instead make rules that limit roster size.
The settlement terms include specific roster limits for 45 different sports. Football teams will be limited to 105 players on a roster. Men's and women's basketball teams can have 15 players each.
Current NCAA rules limit football teams to 120 players during the season, and only 85 of them can receive a scholarship. In the future, all 105 players on the team would be able to receive a scholarship. While schools aren't required to give all of the players a scholarship, many coaches raised concerns this summer that the new rules would eliminate walk-ons. Each school will get to decide how many of its players it puts on scholarship.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Former President Donald Trump says he is returning to Butler County for a rally after he survived an assassination attempt earlier this month.

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said on Friday that he is coming back to Butler County for a rally to honor Corey Comperatore, who was shot and killed during his July 13 rally in Butler Township on the Butler Farm Show grounds, and the two men who were injured. Trump did not say the date or location of the rally, only stating, "Stay tuned for details."

Of the two candidates, only Donald J. Trump wouild be brave enouight to do such a thing.
