Addressing housing shortages and helping home buyers
HARRIS:
“And by the end of my first term, we will end America’s housing shortage by building 3 million new homes and rentals. ... While we work on the housing shortage, my administration will provide first time homebuyers with $25,000 to help with the down payment on a new home.”
THE FACTS: . By helping more Americans afford homes, the Harris proposal to subsidize down payments would almost certainly increase demand, at a time when estimates of the U.S. housing shortage already range from
3 million to as high as 7 million.
THE QUESTION: Where the hell is the free money coming from? Willie? And what kind of home will $25K down get you?
ANSWER: $175,000,000,000 will come from higher taxes on all of us. This woman is dumber than a possum with a yellow paint stripe.
SOLUTION: To put low-cost housing in higher class neighborhoods to create "equality" and to bring down home values.
CONUNDRUM: What happens if they don't spend the money on a home? You know, like all that covid money?
