During his weekly press conference, Ryan Walters did not name a starting quarterback for Saturday's game against Northwestern. He reiterated that Hudson Card and Ryan Browne would both play, but a decision has not been made regarding which would emerge as the starter yet.

There’s talk on the other board about how good Harris is already. Brian has gone as far as to say he will probably start and that he is a great defender, possibly one of the best we have seen at Purdue.
Some people (IU fans) are saying it’s a bad sign that a frosh is starting over Heide/Colvin but Brian has explained it as Painter wanting a second ball handler next to Smith and not a knock on the two sophomores.

My question is, for you, is it a bad sign or is it a good sign that a frosh is possibly winning a starters role out of the gate?

For me it’s a good sign. We are incredibly deep with talent and we all know that Heide and Colvin are solid players. It’s going to be tough for Painter to manage the minutes with this much talent. Harris being BigDogs son makes this turn of events even more reasonable to me. We knew he was good but to see him win a starters spot right out of the gate is a very good sign that we indeed have a ton of talent on this years team.

You know I have been on here talking about what two woeful candidates these are. And both were early.

I like Painter’s approach to learning from exhibition games. Play lots of guys, don’t run sets and just play ball. While we the fans want to win…Painter wants to learn.

So my curiosity wondered how IU approached their game. They played four guys 30 or more minutes. Nine players for in the game. Yeah…they won….but did they learn much? Or did everyone else learn they don’t have a very deep team?

3 guys on the floor with more assists than Braden Smith. Wow...Kinda shocking. But him hunting shots will always lower that I guess. Smith great tonight, but did not realize he and TKR shot 23/20 shots. Seems like a bunch. Might have to be the case this year though.

Foul shooting other than Loyer was 8/17. Ouch.

Can you identify 3 policies of the "other" party that you like.....that they will enact in the future. So you can't say "no tax on tips" since both parties have that policy. But name 3 others.

If you can't ......well then you know which you are.

I strongly dislike Dem policy, but here are the K2 policies, I can go for.......

1. $6,000 tax credit for families with newborns.

2. $50,000 tax credit for new business.

3. $25,000 new home buyer plan

The scam.....ASPCA. I love pets, but if you want to help them donate to your local Humane Society. This ASPCA is a scam where most rescued animals end up euthanized in a short time anyway.

It occurred to me that the in-state program down south has found a winning formula by bringing in a new HC, who also brought a dozen players from football 'powerhouse' James Madison. That is bad news for the strength of the conference, IMO. It should not happen. This is not sour grapes. Its an indication of a historically weak (traditional teams) Big Ten. Can you just imagine Mississippi State replicating that in the SEC, bringing in a new HC, being 8-0, and using a dozen new players from, say Appalachian State? As someone said on this board, IU "needs to take advantage of this once in a lifetime schedule opportunity".

This is just GD hilarious!!! We've been saying all along that the prosecutions of Trump were all bogus. Lefties here were loving to call Trump a Felon because of the bogus cases. The appeals court judges blew up the Democrats case vs Trump so badly that by the end they were begging to not be sanctioned. I hope they get sanctioned hard!

Purdue beat Ohio State in straight sets last night at Purdue. Not as dominating as the IU match, but a good win to have. We eeked out the first and third sets as both teams had set points. We looked beaten in the first set, but found a way to come back. There is a strong confidence building with this team, and many players are contributing now. Ohio State is not a bad team, but just not in the upper half of this elite conference.
