You reap what you sow

There’s certainly nothing wrong with questioning things. It’s one of the ways we make advancements. But you’re arguing against proven science because someone told you to, and you got no further than that. You and others on here are at the point where you know the grass is green, but someone will say it’s yellow and by god, it’s now yellow in your mind and that’s that.
I will always question the scientific claims of someone who believes a man can get pregnant.

If IU pulls off this class of Sisley/ Mullins/Haralson/Reibe.....

I’m doubling down on Jacobson! I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t start from day 1.

Think about it. Jacobson would probably start on 75% of division 1 teams. The only reason one would question whether he starts at Purdue or not is simply because Purdue has so much other outstanding talent.

This could be the deepest and most overall talented team in the ncaa this year. Think about it, we lost out on catchings and Sisley and Mullins and haralson . And we lost Edey. Yet we are still regarded as a top 10 team because of all of the talent that remains.

And next year could be even better than this year.

Purdue basketball doesn’t need the nil to win.
Berg has put in the work. He’ll see the floor more that Jacobson at least the first 1/4th of the season. After that he’ll start over Berg. Jacobson is way too talented, IMO. His rebounding, scoring touch, calm demeanor and blocking will be too important for Painter to discount. Get him used to the grind, petty-fouling and get some of the “dumb-freshman” turnover stuff out of the way. Berg will be a great back-up IMO.

Indinia is 6-0 and . . .

Think of what we are talking about here folks. It's all about money and not education. Education is what universities were supposed to be about. Yes, I know some schools have put sports ahead of education, but the recent changes have taken us all to a "semi-pro" atmosphere. I feel like we have to either fully embrace it or de emphasize sports. Somewhere in between is just a "no man's land" of teams that compete versus those that don't follow the new "normal". The exception is the way Painter does things. Can it last? I would like to hope so. Can we establish such a program in football? Seems like it will be a lot tougher to do that in football.

Dick Bennett did a similar retirement when he left Wisconsin. Maybe it is his way of passing on the baton to a worthy assistant. Tony is only 55 so I'd imagine he'll coach somewhere else in a couple years.
I think this, like with Wright, are coaches who are tired of dealing with transfer pool and NIL. Players asking first how much money they will make, wanting guarantees etc. No rules in place and no governing body with any clout. They just don't want to play the game any more.

The data has been proven wrong about people being protected from COVID. Why do vaccinated people get COVID? People have still died and have suffered other conditions such as blood clots.
The COVID vaccine manufactures and the scientist have said from the get go that there is a certain percent effectiveness. Therefore, since that percent effectiveness is not 100% some folks will still get COVID. Similarly with the seasonal flu. Some folks that get vaccinated with the seasonal flu vaccine still get the seasonal flu.

Purdue picked to win Big Ten

75 offers from 2023-2025 and 5 commits. Only 2 in 2024-2025 out of 60+ offers.
Purdue had 32 offers and 7 commits over that time. (6 in 2024-2025),
Not sure the “lure” is there.
I think Woodson lives by the strategy from a one Michael Scott - “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”

So why not just offer everyone?!! Eventually someone will say yes…right….RIGHT??!?

It's like MAGA is proud to question everything. It's cool to be white and cynical.......and flip the bird to the world. Anti government, anti technology, anti science. You can't watch TV unless the wind is blowing or the sun is shining. You only get a trickle of water out of the faucet. Rising ocean levels mean more coastline. Inject disinfectant. Nuking hurricanes. This is who you're believing. Lol

So proud to choose to remain so stupid........and tell the world about it. Unbelievable.

Why do you have to bring race into it? I know your white guilt burden is heavy. Did you remember to flip the McDonald's counter worker an extra nickel this morning?

Some of us are smart enough to think for ourselves, instead of just blindly following Big Government “Scientist” Hacks.

That is not true at all. Many have been vaccinated and still get COVID. People wear masks and still get COVID. Some don’t wear masks and don’t get COVID. Some don’t get vaccinated and don’t get COVID. So which way is the science right?

Don’t forget to stay 6 to 10 feet in spacing from people during the pandemic. Lol
My favorite "Scientific fact" was the inability for the virus to be transmitted when you're sitting in a restaurant. But like magic, it could jump from person to person if you stood up and walked to the bathroom.
Therefore, you could sit with no mask, but were required to wear one if you stood up and walked.

I was gonna go through these individually, but I think instead I'll just point out that, while some of your statements are just plain incorrect, to the extent that they ARE correct, scientific claims being disproven has always been the result of better science. Science is a process, and doesn't make proclamations of truth. It simply represents the best understanding and explanations we have based on current data. When new data is discovered, the scientific understanding is changed to account for it. So, if you want to maintain that spanking children is actually effective and not harmful (the topic we started with), you're going to have to actually demonstrate it by doing better science than the science that says the opposite. I'm sorry, but it's just not good enough to say "sometimes science is wrong, so I'm justified in rejecting anything that it says with which I disagree."
So, what happens when you have 10 scientists on one side of an issue and 10 on the other side? How do you decide which one you're going to believe?
Do you believe the same thing with economists? Which would seem to be less subjective than science. For example, if 10 economists say trickle down economics work and 10 say they don't, who do you believe?
You see, that's were you're personal beliefs come in in terms of which side you chose. As a liberal, you're going to side with whoever supports your personal belief and opinion.

I took Purdue at +29.5 I am hoping for a win, not just a cover

Also taking Louisville at +4.5 vs Miami. It is a home game for LV and Miami isnt playing great. Finally, taking Nebraska at +6.5 and I think they will beat IU.
Betting with your heart me thinks. Purdue covering would be a win…don’t think it’s going to happen though. Of course cheering for Nebraska but I don’t think they win either. Have to accept Indiana might be decent. Parlay those three, take money line on your upsets. Huge payout…

If IU pulls off this class of Sisley/ Mullins/Haralson/Reibe.....

A question for the old timers. We often talk about IU always wining the off season.

How highly thought of were the recruiting classes that included Isaiah Thomas. And Buckner and Benson and Landon Turner and Scotty May

I remember following Buckner from his high school days in Chicago. I remember other guards had a lot better stats, but he produced wins!

I remember Thomas was pretty highly regarded. But how great were May and Benson in high school?

I recall Bailey and Alford had great high school careers. But how high were they rated nationally?

I’m just curious , were these players awesome players in high school? Did the IU coaching staff develop them or elevate their game?

I wonder how these players would have done if they had played for Keady? And how many of these players were actually recruited by Keady?
Keady wasn't a very good recruiter. Yeh, he got the Big Dog and the Little Dog was highly rated, but overall, he didn't stack talent. Frank Kendrick was the main recruiter but he got in trouble for a silly violation.
