I disagree, I don’t think he really played well last year. I don’t think he’s come anywhere close to the guy he was billed as coming into the program. His progressions through options is slow and way to often he makes questionable decisions/reads. I think Browne has earned the starting role and should be given the job until he’s no longer offering more production on offense. Not normally a fan of alternating quarterbacks. Walters made the comment during one of the interviews that he didn’t like the idea of a guy losing his starting role dt an injury.
He was honorable mention BTN QB last year.

Trump’s real closing message: his kkklan rally at MSG

So another "Trust me, bro." Yup, you keep confirming the worst of Trump's effects on the naïve.

  • Trust no experts; trust no first hand experiences with Trump by national and international leaders.
  • Only trust Trump and his favored media and internet buddies.

And when that horrible dynamic is laid out for you? Your only counter is a TrustMeBro insult or middle-school name calling.
Why aren't you trusting the experts that are saying the opposite? Why are you choosing to only trust those that you want to believe?

Burgess

Did you infer from that interview that he thought that Berg was pulling away? I don’t recall him explicitly stating that and I didn’t get that impression from what MP said. I’m not saying you’re wrong, just that I interpreted it differently.
I did. I could be wrong too but he’s pretty direct and all but says it. And he’s not saying it can only be Berg. He said Jacobsen and Burgess struggled and have a lot of work to do. And then praised Berg and for rebounding and said that is the person who will end up separating themselves. To me that was a clear message Berg has separated himself as the starter. But he certainly sees the potential even comparing Jacobsen to All American JJJ in his development.

If this is his last year of cfb, the honorable thing to do is give Card some more time. He played well last year, and has been a good teammate as far as I know.

If he still has another year, different story.

Early look at potential foe BYU

To be fair, he hasn’t played with TKR at the five yet. That lineup is coming, although I don’t know when. I have a feeling he will shine with the starters.
After the first two exhibition games I can’t but to begin to wonder if maybe the reason we haven’t seen the small ball lineup with Heide at the 4 is because of the way we’ve seen him play in those two games. He’s not going to get much time playing the way he is. He’s kinda just been there and not really contributing much. Last year he earned his time mainly through his defensive efforts and he has competition for playing D on the top scoring guards and small wings in both Harris and Cox. He never really created shots for himself but his stroke was always good. I wonder if he’s struggling just to figure out how he fits into this year and is unsure how to define or carve out his role. I really thought he’d be aggressive this year and we’d see more small ball than the traditional big lineup 🤷🏼‍♂️?

Burgess

Paint also said after the GVSU exhibition he is looking for someone who functions well in the offense and rebounds and thinks berg is pulling away from the others.

Three key takeaways: Purdue vs. Grand Valley State

Other than the foul shooting Landry would be a great TKR comparison. Such an efficient scorer.

I like all 5 of our guards quite a bit. Cox is kinda Wille Dean like in offense, but plays better D.....so far. Had a nice pass last night, but the ball sticks with him sometimes to much. But when he is on....can you blame him?? Harris is a joy to watch on both sides. Big physical guard that is so tough. Smith is going to win us alot games in a likely B10 MVP campaign. Love watching Loyer & Colvin's shot, so pure. Loyer is great at drawing fouls, and has even more ways to score this year. Alot to like in these guards. Due to so many great tools, I wonder if CMP will go small ball on occasion, situationally.
It would be a miracle if TKR was as efficient as Landry, he would need to up his TS 10%

Grand Valley full game on Youtube

I nominate Wole for the next B1G Minus broadcast. He can read some of his ramblings of a madman to fill time when we’re up 50 in the 2nd half. He would at least pronounce Keady correctly.
The game would be at half time and he’d still be rambling about who is going to start and if the players will leave cuz they’re not starting. Him and Walton (rip) would have been a great duo on the call.

One of them was middle-aged for sure. The other was younger, not college-aged though. My guess is they were new and this was more or less a tryout scenario by BTN.

I did notice Will Bergs screens Cox scored 7 points late in the game simply because of Berg's screens. Raleigh and Daniel are great, but they need time to develop. Berg took no prisoners on both ends of the court. Daniel was man handled by a 6'7 division 2 player and looked the part of a freshman. I read everyone saying on twitter that CJ was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I think he is great but man it's early. I think this season is Purdue's for the taking if we crown Wille the starter at the 5. At least until Daniel and Raleigh get where they are going. TKR is giving me Carl Landry flashbacks not a bad player to be compared to Carl logged a decade in the NBA then 2 years in China as the highest paid player.
Landry was just on the @Boilerball podcast with Elliott and Rob. Highly recommend. Carl has a big personality.

Burgess

Nope. He holds the experience and strength advantage to this point. Matt's already said he's the best rebounder on the team. We've seen him score in close, and we still haven't seen the jumper/set shot.

Harris ad triggers the MAGA chauvinists

Dems are amoral and immoral? Like, all of them? Might I share with you stories of Christian men in my old church that were screwing around on their wives and stashing money away? Left their wife with two kids and no skills to support herself........and was late on their child support?
How do you know those men in your old church weren’t Democrats like you?

State of the Union

1) Brohm's timing, leaving and taking coaches and players with him, did not help the situation.
2) The Harrell/Card experiment turned out to be a mistake.
3) Don't know what was behind Walters hire but he was in a no win situation in both his first and second season especially since key players left after the 1st season killed this year.
4) Tough to recruit when the sword of Damocles is hanging over one's head.
5) IF they do not have a deal with a name Coach and arm him with NIL money this is not going to be Walters last year.
6) It sucks that IU is having a banner turn around but their Coach brought many players with him that knew his system.
7) The Northwestern game is a MUST win or it will get uglier.
8) Been though the highs, with Jack, Young and Brohm and been through the lows
9) NIL's will replace NLI's.
10) The ball is in the AD's hands and Purdue has to decide if they are going to pay the money necessary for a Coach and PLAYERS or it will be a death sentence to the bottom tier of the B1G for awhile.

I agree most of your post, but "the highs of . . . . Brohm"?

He was 1 game over 500. He coached during 2 of the worst bowl shellacking ever (I don't excuse him from the LSU debacle!). If you had included Tiller and omitted Jeff, then your post would have been nearly perfect.

Let's hope we don't earn the death sentence.
