Updated KenPom B1G standings projection

Back part of the conference schedule is really interesting, not just for Purdue, which has to be all-hands-on-deck mentality.

Similarly to 2019, Michigan and Michigan State play twice toward the end. Michigan State plays Michigan twice, @ Illinois and hosts Purdue among its last seven games. Oregon looks to have the most favorable (on paper).....you never know for sure, but there definitely are some potential really good match-ups down the stretch.

Long, long way to go before that, and other teams could fight their way into the mix.

Last 7 games:

Purdue - @ Michigan, Wisconsin, @ Michigan State, @ Indiana, UCLA, Rutgers, @ Illinois (pack your hard hat)

Illinois - @ Minnesota, UCLA, Michigan State, @ Wisconsin, Iowa, @ Michigan, Purdue

Michigan State - @ Illinois, Purdue, @ Michigan, @ Maryland, Wisconsin, @ Iowa, Michigan

Michigan - @ Ohio State, Michigan State, @ Nebraska, Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland, @ Michigan State

Oregon - Northwestern, Rutgers, @ Iowa, @ Wisconsin, USC, Indiana, @ Washington

Purdue road looks tough with those 4 tough away games. Not to mention Oregon.
Comparitaviley, Oregon, Mich and Illinois looks like they caught a break.

Unbalanced schedules hard to figure, but certainly leave some with higher probabilities.

Down goes Michigan

Tough game to watch down the stretch of regulation with all the official reviews. Damn it's getting bad.

Nice result though. Turned it on with Michigan up 10, like 51-41 or something, and the next time I looked up it was tied. There's not a lot of talent on that team but they hit big shots and just hung tough.
I watched parts of this until Minny was down 10 and stopped checking in. My takeaway, even when they were down, was that the Gophers were playing their asses off. Nice to see Ben Johnson pull this out.

Down goes Michigan

Probably should have either called timeout or chucked it at the Michigan defender's knee when he got caught in the corner (after a push).
yes, he was pushed. I don't believe there was a TO left, but could be wrong. I also at the time thought about the knee (or lower) and questioned if a good angle was there. No matter what the rule of thumb is to NOT save or throw a ball under the other team's basket unless you know exactly where it is going. He threw it behind the bankboard, ;) which made no sense either and you know he wasn't trying to throw it out of bounds.

Purdue at Oregon

I have to admit I tapped out after the first quarter 9 turnovers. I did check back in with the radio every now and then to see if things were getting better. I'm doing my best to be supportive, but it is darn hard to come up with the reasons, except the "we are young".
If you want to watch the rest of the game that you missed, you can get replays on Big+. (VBG)

We are a FF contender if THIS version of Caleb Furst returns for the 24/25 season.

Purdue is playing well right now, but they're beating the hell out of teams they should beat the hell out of. "Beat the teams you're supposed to beat" as they say.
Unfortunately, the team has also be run off the floor a couple of times and been manhandled in their losses where they didn't have an answer.

Dang Lenny - you missed your calling - should have been on the ATP - your backhand is right up there with Djokovic, Wawrinka, and Ruud......

Hard to imagine it doesn't come down to the final Friday night in Champaign.

You mean like Michigan was supposed to beat the hell out of Minnesota?

Stealing Credit for the Gaza Ceasefire

"There’s little doubt Donald Trump’s intervention was the main reason for the Gaza ceasefire but predictably Joe Biden, who facilitated genocide until the bitter end, is saying it was him on his way out the door, says Joe Lauria."
Again, REAL journalism, not fake corporate news.
Anyone with a brain or not suffering from serious TDS (BNI, Bob, Wole) knows that the ceasefire and hostage release is 100% the Trump effect. Biden had little if anything to do with it.

Braun Eliminates DEI

City fire departments have a history of hiring many, many legacy candidates. There have been generations of white sons, fathers, brothers, etc that have been hired for decades regardless of qualifications. Doing so have shut many blacks an minorities. In addition, these white firemen would share the entrance exam questions to their family members applying.

So my question to y’all anti-DEI folks is that fair? And why haven’t y’all complain about that? I used city fire departments as an example. This practice have been going on in other industries for decades.
Wow....this is a reach, even for you. Now you're claiming reverse DEI in our fire departments?
The same could probably be said for jobs at the DMV, social services, etc.

Only 1 unbeaten left in BT

Hummel was on the other night talking about them and pointed to the difference between Fears and Hoggard. Basically said in a nice way that Hoggard was really holding them back for 4 years. I agree, and could never understand why he was their guy for so long and Izzo never found anyone better. Hoggard was about as meh as they come.
Hoggard still stinking it up at Vandy

Marcus Mbow

Just for a realistic reference Brohm won 8 games in 2022 with a much easier schedule and a pro quality quarterback. So 8 in 2023 starting with a new quarterback would have been a major stretch for anyone that "knows ball" LOL.
Knowing what we know about that Walters staff…for sure 8 was a stretch. In hindsight we were lucky to win the 4. Barring that weather delay at VT we probably lose that game where we played in front of 15000 fans instead of 60k.
