It feels like 2021 season when Edey was coming into his own

Watching the team play the other night reminded me when Edey shared minutes with, was it Willams, early in his career.

Purdue is going to struggle this year until our 4s and 5s get more comfortable on the floor as their D seems slow, their aggressiveness is low, and their rebounding is down. As time progresses and the 4s/5s continues to improve, get comfortable, understand their assignments, and build that intuition with the 3s, 2s, and 1s, then we'll return to a top contender. That chemistry between Smith and Edey was magical.

Edey, and other big men before him, are hard to replace, but it will happen, just not in our timing.

Aniya Warren is a VERY recent get for Purdue after she originally committed to IU. She was the U-19 Team USA team captain and the “icing on the cake” in the words of Shondell. #1 ranked libero recruit in the country. The staff is very high on her and thinks she’ll be an instant difference maker.
Lockport is in the state semifinals along with my alma mater (Benet Academy) this weekend. Sounds like they should meet in the finals.

This thread is reserved for bni to gripe about Matt Gaetz

...the new AG pick.

In my view, while just about anybody is an upgrade over the corrupt Merrick Garland, I think this is very much the weakest pick by Trump so far - one that I think is a mistake.

With that, I turn this thread over to bni to channel urban radio - joined by the usual woke libs.

Faux News host, Pete Hegseth tabbed as Defense Secretary, really?

Dude, I know all about his record. I just can’t believe that this is the best Chump can do as far as Sec of Defense. I thought he hires the best.

Lloyd Austin was considered a DEI hire from the get go who forgot more about the military than Hegseth will ever know.
He also forgot his military values given that he did not resign over the dishonor of the incompetent Afg withdrawal.

Here is some key experience of Austin that Pete doesn't have, showing he is a shill for DoD contractors - just like recent dem hero Dick Cheney was:

Immediately after retiring as CENTCOM Commander, Austin joined the board of Raytheon Technologies, a military contractor, in April 2016.[53][54] As of October 2020, his Raytheon stock holdings were worth roughly $500,000 and his compensation, including stock, totaled $2.7 million.[53] On September 18, 2017, he was appointed to Nucor's board of directors.[55] On May 29, 2018, Austin was appointed as an independent director on the board of Tenet Healthcare.[56] He also operates a consulting firm and has been a partner at Pine Island Capital, an investment company with which Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Michèle Flournoy are affiliated.[57] (wikipedia)

Deportation Plans???

Simple. Make them leave in their own.

1. Eliminate all the free chit.

2. Give them a month to leave on their own. If they are caught, seize heir assets.

3. Use the irs the Biden weaponized and threaten to crackdown on companies that hire them.
Assets? A stolen bicycle and a Coleman pup tent ain't worth much.

Bardin is an underrated and phenomenal setter who touches 10’3 and is still growing. High ceiling according to Shondell. 4/5 star recruit.

Tindall is the #1 ranked player in Indiana and top 20 nationally. Shondell has been following her for a long time and has big goals for her. She’ll start early in January which is always good.

Morgan Williams was a late get for Purdue and comes from an area that isn’t super-heavy in volleyball talent (southern Alabama). She’ll also start early and get some quality experience. She has some work to put in, but is going to be good.

Mattea Casale is the final commit and comes from Florida.

Overall, the class is very good and has a lot of talent. Very strong class to build on for the future.

Bobinski needs to go before Walters

As for our university president, I highly doubt football is her #1 priority. She doesn’t bow down to the football team. Rather they should bow down to her. She’s the one who helped negotiate the big 10 network deal, not any football coach. Brohm didn’t negotiate that deal, our AD and President did.
I wasn’t aware that our president had undergone a gender change.

This one takes the cake for most insipid and uninformed post of the day…

Reality comes to town Alabama

I see this game as being a great forecast for the season. I don’t see playing small ball being successful against the top teams.

I also don’t see Berg as being anything more than a supporting role player
I doubt you see the same team Friday that you will see in February. This is a new team. Give them time to grow.

Names to consider for our next football coach?

Matt Campbell, Iowa State.

Will only be 45 years old at season’s end. Has demonstrated real loyalty to ISU (not a job hopper always looking for a bigger opportunity). Other than one or two down seasons, has consistently won and has defeated Big Ten schools more often than not with fewer resources and prestige. Is a Midwest guy having coached at a land grant university for the last nine seasons. Team is 7-2 so far this season.

Most importantly, he has extensive head coaching experience and could bring most if not all of his staff with him. At least at Purdue during my lifetime, head coaching experience for more than five years and bringing staff with you have been the only times that Purdue has won in football.

A jump to the Big Ten with greater compensation for him and his staff, more resources, more tradition, and more academic prestige could be appealing to him.
Yes! He is on my short list. Good OL coach if I’m not mistaken too.

Per CDS, 4 young ladies signed today for the 2025 class and a 5th will sign in January. The Dig City Podcast will have more information.
These are today’s signees:
Addy Tindall, 6’3” OH from Roanoke, In.
Morgan Williams, 6’3” MB from Enterprise, Al.
Isabelle Bardin, 6’3” S/RS from Washington, DC.
Aniya Warren, 5’8” DS from Lockport, Il.
Is this considered a top class? Any idea of where these players are ranked?

Big Ten Power Rankings

I think they have the talent but their system through the 4 games they’ve played…has not changed. Still giving up wide open 3s—a lot of them and still taking a small amount of 3s.
Still no shooters outside of Mbacko. Rice seems to be sped up and really hasn’t shown himself to be the “best point guard in the league” as many IU fans have been saying. They have size but when they play two bigs it clogs the lane for others.
