Still not guarding the 3 point shooters
Yea you will lose games. But this thing called the NET exist and it matters. And losing by 20 is never good. No matter what you're playing. Especially in the non conference. From a perception standpoint, also not good to lose by 20. Sure you can learn things and get better but that doesn't turn it into a great loss or even a good loss. It's still a bad loss to learn from. If your team has a mindset of "losing by 20 is a great loss" then that team is lost. I don't think Painter was in the locker room saying "great loss guys. We're gonna learn a lot from this."You just don't know how basketball works or any damn sport. You will lose games and you adjust, get better, figure out what a player needs to do or what position a player is a better fit for your system.
What I see from you and your knowledge is the typical IU fan. We are IU, we will pay for players and we will assume that we will be good.
Purdue, recruits players to the system, makes players accountable and just keeps winning.
Need a 3rd and 4th player to step up this half
I'm a little disappointed at the close of the half. I know games ebb and flow, but I want to see the death punch and knock them out. This is an undefeated, ranked, major conference team at a neutral site on national television. Too often I've seen us get complacent with a 12-point lead then I go take a leak and when I come back, we're only up 2. Painter is pretty solid at half-time adjustments and neither team has had much team to strategize and game plan so I'm excited to see a good second half.
If you had asked me pre-game if I'd be happy up 8 points at halftime and my answer would have been a no-brainer. But when you are up 18 with 5 minutes left then only go into the locker room up 8 it leaves the door open to them making some adjustments and cleaning our clock in the second half.
Hopefully we can finish this. I want to see the Colvin, Harris, Cox and Heide show in the second half.
Make them fear our entire team so they can't focus on just taking out Braden or TKR.
What stats are you looking at? He's not 50% in 3 or total percentage. His last 3 games before today he was 38% and 28% total.50% is 50%. Either you can shoot or you can't. He's still shooting 50% against South Carolina, Louisville, Gonzaga and Providence. He's shooting 44.5% against Gonzaga and Louisville. Either way, he's shooting the 3 well this season. Last year around this time he was sub 30%.
Losing the rebounding battle so not many second chances.
Not the only one being slow to the ball or too far off their defensive assignment
the 2nd last one Loyer is just standing guarding no one and his guy is just standing in the corner waiting for a pass, got it for an open 3 .
good place, do you have Purdue gear on ?So far so good at halftime, from the absolute belly of the beast:
Nick’s English Hut, Bloomington, IN 😱😱😱😱
Not the only one being slow to the ball or too far off their defensive assignmentLoyer has played decent D this year.
But not so far in H1 imo.
So far so good at halftime, from the absolute belly of the beast:I’m checking in from Kokomo today
