Purdue at Penn State: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Sliding into my recliner with mere minutes to spare. I'm READY to start our dominance of the B2G.
My 1920 finally arrived. Will happily kick back with a bourbon and boilerball on this cold windy shitshow of a Thursday. Psycho beard will bring us the victory!
I want a virtual shot.

OT - Brady Allen in Portal…

We do well with the true diamonds in the rough and seem to get nothing out of the 4 stars.

Rickie Collins who committed to us 3-4 years ago and landed at LSU is back in the transfer portal as well. Seems unless you’re a big guy with $ attached to you, you might never even get a shot!
similar to that rising 3 star TE from Ill that verbal to us, then went to Bama and he's not even on their roster

NIL lawsuit - is it time to end restrictions on number of years of eligibility?

My point would be you'd just tie eligibility to attendance. You don't want someone just taking one class and getting six figures NIL because they are great at the college level but not quite good enough for the pros. However, if they are taking a more or less full load towards a degree then if it takes six years so what? Injury or no injury.
Whos going to police it? Does online classes count? It would be another loophole that would get abused.

I’ll still say not all star ratings are the same for some players. Maybe the highly rated guys Purdue gets are not all that in the first place. They don’t get many so it really looks bad when they don’t pan out. Alabama gets a lot of four star players that don’t work out, but they get so many it’s not that noticeable.

2025 class signings are coming in

Point taken. Rants are good.

I cant help but wonder if the lackadaisical play by some of the better athletes was due to their perception that the AD didnt care, why should they? Not an excuse but frustration does build.

In my own business life, we (the company) went with an obvious DEI hire who became a liability nightmare. My job was to run liability cover for a company that obviously did not care. The other members on the the team definitely took on the perception that if the company did not care, why should they? It became a cancer. It wasnt until the DEI employee was terminated (I took a lot of heat for an onsite explosion where I ran him off) that the performance/quality with the others picked up.

Is this the same situation? Why bust our asses if the AD wont correct the problem? I wonder if the individual athletic performance would have improved had something come from the top mid season?

(For those about to get triggered, don't. I did not say Walters was DEI, as was the case I dealt with. )
One thing to consider is the players better bust their tails if they have any aspirations of going into the portal at year end. All this is on tape so it would greatly affect their desirability for an offer from another team. I just don’t think many of these guys were very good.
