Zach Edey a late scratch tonight against Oklahoma City with a concussion and is in the protocols. Learning through the school of hard knocks so far, battling through some injuries. Memphis has had seemingly half their team out a lot so far this first part of the season - getting boat-raced by the Thunder, 102-74 after three quarters.

Still, had Cam and Myles made the jump we are used to seeing in second year players this team would be substantially better

I made the comment, maybe here, maybe elsewhere, that against Auburn, Colvin and Heide had a combined 5 (P+R+A). Thought that was bad enough. As you say, tonight was only 2. I do believe it's 75% on them but also 25% on the system. There's just too much Smith/TKR on most possessions. But they need to be able to crash the boards, since that is sorely lacking on the defensive end.

Worst to me is one rebound. They could get at least a few more on effort. The subs got 17. Some guy on Toledo who averages 5 got 11.

What a game by Smith.....stud.

But long term, coaching staff is making us easier to guard (basically 3 man team). Coaches should have considered using this game to develop other scorers by running stuff for them.
