I come to bury the playoffs, not to praise them

I would say the current playoff system needs adjustments do you want a 64 team dance like basketball? I believe 16 teams is better than 12. I also believe there were only 8 teams deserving of being in a playoff this year. I am a firm believer the march dance should be reduced to 16 teams. That would give conferences and conference championships a lot more importance. Do we really need 64 teams and additional play in games? Nobody cares about the first round of games unless you lose
I would say 32 is enough and the teams left out could make the NIT relative again.

IU looking to pickup big road win at Penn State

That ended up being treated as a road game for NET purposes for Purdue after initially being treated as neutral, IIRC.

That's how I remember it. It was PSU's home game and their decision to move it to Philly. Seems like PSU has done that during the holiday break in recent years. A bone to Philly alumni, I guess. Looks like there were about 2000 empty seats today.

Big Ten road win is a z big Ten road win. Gotta take any and all you can.

Very true. Take 'em any way you can get 'em on the road in the B1G. Purdue's next game is @Rutgers, another place that has given Purdue problems in recent years, then an West Coast swing to Washington and Oregon in mid-January. Nothing comes easy this time of year.

Illinois - are they the team to beat?

We’ve certainly turned it up a notch since getting pummeled by Auburn.

Barnhizer and Martinelli were the only teammates averaging 20+ - Purdue held them to 21 total, forced NW into 13 turnovers and about 9 more 3-pt attempts than average. Definitely better energy and anticipation on that end the last couple of games. Let's see if they can keep that going in New Jersey next week.

Didn't get to see it.....but how in the world did NW beat IL?

The NW team we beat today, looked like it was a league cellar dweller. Which indicates how good our D was I guess.....and how great Mackey is.

Furst

I haven't been on in a few weeks, so I wanted to give a shout out to CALEB FURST who has really turned it up as of late! I know at times with him being a senior, I tend to be harder on the older guys that have been around the program, but I HAVE ALWAYS SAID I LOVE OUR TEAM AND ALL THE PLAYERS and just want them to succeed! I hope he can keep playing the way he has been! IT's been very refreshing!

Illinois - are they the team to beat?

Which is why I somehow think Purdue still has a chance?

MSU can't shoot and ILL is relatively inexperienced to expect a run through B1G gauntlet without a few bumps.

We'll see....

Also, watched Michigan for the first time last night and they pass the eye test. Could realistically see a five way tie or something crazy.
A five way tie would be crazy but that would so be the B2G haha

Northwestern at Purdue: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Man I hope so... He has all the God given natural talent. Would be pity to waste 6'7 with elite athleticism.

Got to work on his handle. Needs to learn positioning and not rely on jumping ability all the time. Got to develop a pull up jumper off a dribble. But got to work on that quick first step.

Still was over 40% on 3s last year, so he will have a game, maybe two more this year where he puts up some nice points.
