House Settlement Roster Limit - Basketball

Excerpts from cbssports.com article:

https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...oor-for-revenue-sharing-in-college-athletics/

Great financial opportunities for young adults for "college" athletics now. It's a fast-changing landscape, but be careful what you wish for - there is no turning back now.......

I also expect there will eventually be some congressional legislation on this because there are still too many open questions regarding employment and anti-trust issues - and there are already draft bills, which have been in early phases for a while.

"Schools can share as much as $20.5 million of their revenues with players during the upcoming academic year. The settlement also includes $2.8 billion in back payments for athletes who competed between 2016 and 2024. The new revenue-sharing cap will increase by at least 4% each year during the 10-year agreement.

***

The power conferences are expected to soon announce the College Sports Commission, an organization tasked to oversee the settlement's terms and enforce new rules. The power conferences hired Deloitte and LBI, major players in revenue management for professional sports, to develop software to dissect NIL deals and track players' revenue-sharing contracts. The CSC will police NIL deals over $600 with a new clearinghouse called "NIL Go," sources told CBS Sports. Deloitte will use data from past endorsement deals with athletes to review boosters' NIL deals and determine whether an agreement exceeds an athlete's fair market value."

2025-26 WBB Season News and Notes

With regard to the number of more wins this upcoming year vs last year, I'd prefer to stick with just the 18 B1G regular season games due to difficultly in comparing the OOC schedules and potential for extra games in the BTT. Based upon what I've observed of the coaching and the current player composition, I suggest the following for this upcoming year to compared to last year's 3 wins:
  • 6 more wins -- maximum expectation (ceiling)
  • 5 more wins -- minimum for KG to remain as coach (or at least it should be)
  • 4 or less more wins -- likely outcome
Perhaps I'll see something different in the coaching/player skills during the OOC games that will change my mind, but this is my current view.

It's really hard to impossible to predict how much better they will be, record-wise, until we see a full OOC schedule.

House Settlement Roster Limit - Basketball

Not really the revenue sharing is based on how much money a school or conference brings in. The $20.5 is a B1G10 number only and I believe it is only the 6 founding members as they receive 5-15% more from conference TV deals and such. The 4 newest teams receive the least. NO school can pay more than those 6 thru revenue sharing. A Big East player will probably be less than 1/2 what Purdue will pay by the settlement agreement. Translated Painter now has the most money he MUST payout along with the other 5 other coaches. Nice problem to have. It is why the 4 pack10 teams wanted in the B1G (big TV contracts). Watch a recruits finial list after this year if he has UCONN and Purdue as his finial 2 bet Purdue.
I think CBS Sports disagrees with your with your narrative.

OT: ACC what happens next? VA Tech POV

And seeding based on final rankings? And no more byes?
Sounds like it, but it's not finalized yet There's been several meetings that are ongoing on the future of the CFP. Interestingly, ESPN's contract runs until 2031 and they just sold the broadcast rights for a game to TNT Sports.

OT: ACC what happens next? VA Tech POV

They're going to get a lot more TV money by having the two top teams play first round games instead of having the conference champ get a bye. As for declaring a conference champ. the Big Ten did it for decades before we had a CCG.
sounds like the latest rendition of the future CFP discussions is a 16 team format with the top five-ranked conference champions receiving automatic bids and the other 11 going to the top ranked at-large teams. 5+11 format.

2025 Uniforms and Helmets

For whatever reason, they decided to fill in the loop on the Motion P on the helmets— it now looks like a fu@kin’ ink smudge— cheap and tacky,

Also, please take those bland, uninspired surrender white helmets and uniforms from the Bucket debacle, and transport them ASAP to the nearest EPA-approved toxic waste disposal facility 🤮🤮
there's an article on Yahoo by a Wisky beat writer who ranks our helmets as 15th in the BIG10
