Can Braden Smith break an all-time NCAA record? He has a great chance. https://purdue.rivals.com/news/braden-smith-is-chasing-ncaa-history
The point was that the white supremists in England abolished slavery but African countries continued to allow it. How can that be explained ?If you are talking about the Africans selling their war captives to the slave traders yeah I know all about that. That never been a secret. Where have you been? The Boneman and I have been talking about this for 2 days now.
Oh, and they do still have a smoking hot blonde doing timeout announcements and games for the students on the floor.
This. It wasn’t too long ago that on this board there were calls to replace Loyer with Colvin or others. Slumps do happen to everybody. Painter always says he doesn’t mind a guy missing if it’s a good shot. Keep taking them and they’ll fall eventually. Cox hasn’t really been filling it up since he hit those 3 in a row in the Alabama game. It’ll come. In the meantime, they need to contribute in other ways.I recall this board getting frustrated when Loyer went through a slump.
did you run into any weather issues ?Yeah, already. It helps that I live 2 minutes from I-88. It's almost a straight shot for me, less than 3 hours. Got home for the last minute of the MSU-UCLA game.
Interesting game. You had to figure TKR was going to eat all night. I was trying to bet on him for 15+ but it seems you can't bet college player props in Iowa. News to me. Might have been because it was specifically against Iowa, as we had that rule in Illinois for a couple of years. Don't know.
I thought the pound-it-into-TKR-every-play went a little too far though. The passing lanes just weren't there in the first half. Bad spacing. Much better in the 2nd. How about TKR's assists! Passed out of the double-team so well. One to Furst, one to Braden, one to Cox, not sure about the 4th one.
What can you say about Braden Smith that hasn't been said already. Put this team on his back once again, especially with the 2 fouls on TKR. I did think his 2nd foul was weak, and his 3rd was even more weak although the game was basically decided. Dix and Sandfort were so good. I found it hard to believe that Dix only made 3 3s. Felt like 6 but maybe they were all in the 2nd half.
The crowd sucked for the most part. It was so empty that you could hear each and every complaint from the fans about the refs during some stretches. They did pick it up on defensive possessions when they got it back to 2 possessions with 5 minutes to go. I did have a couple people chat with me nicely about how they like Purdue's program.

I have lived in a country that was a USAID recipient. I was stationed at Clark Air Base, Philippines, for three years. Ferdinand Marcos and his cronies became multi-millionaires and the rest of the nation lived in grinding poverty.USAID is just one example of American soft power. This admin has never heard of it.
will be nice to show an ex PAC12 team what a home court crowd should sound like. I've been kidding my brother ( Purdue Alum) who had 2 of his kids go to USC who's he rooting for? He said def PurdueSmith nailing that 3 before the half, was just big balls. No way he lets the team lose that game from there. Simply a joy to watch. We have been so fortunate to watch these most recent Purdue teams. Now, another wild Mackey crowd is needed Friday night.
One thing that I noticed about Heide yesterday is that the 3 pointer that he hit was the one where he had to shoot and had no time to think. It was actually the hardest of his attempts. Sometimes the most coach-able team first guys struggle the most with second guessing themselves which he had no time to do on that play.
On the other hand, he really is playing an important overall role for this team and is doing a lot of the dirty work, which is what he needs to do as he works through this.
Loyer is fine as the third wheel most of the time, Purdue needs someone else to step up, Harris and Cox look better, Furst played good last night, once again Colvin and Heide offensively didn’t add much.Glad we eeked out a road win...Iowa made that more interesting that we all would have hoped.
The offense is still too dependent on Smith and TKR. I'm afraid that our offense will get too linear as we near March...I don't love our other guys, who could fill it up in high school, just quickly think to get it back to Smith over shooting an open shot etc.
Loyer made some bad plays down the stretch before Painter pulled him...he can be so good, but such a doofus at times.
for how good of a shooting team they are, they are a pretty bad FT shooting teamYeah, already. It helps that I live 2 minutes from I-88. It's almost a straight shot for me, less than 3 hours. Got home for the last minute of the MSU-UCLA game.

Braden isn’t selfish and if you actually are a Purdue fan, you’d already know that after his freshman year. He’d rather have 15 assists and 0 points as long as it meant they win. He stops scoring and looks to pass more to get others involved ESPECIALLY when Purdue is in control (from an interview Paint had).I believe Brandon will have some great opportunities to prove his skills against some very good teams. And that is what it will take to win the award.
As I look at the Big 10, There are some teams like UW, Maryland, Illinois, OSU, Nebraska that are starting to get some national attention. And then you add teams like Oregon and MSU with teams like Iowa and IU lurking in the shadows. unlike many others, Purdue and Brandon will have a lot of opportunities ahead to prove they are worthy.
Just take care of business and win as a team and the individual awards will follow. I’d rather have Purdue win as a team than have players being selfish going after individual awards.
IU and Iowa all played that pocket pass a bitYeah, already. It helps that I live 2 minutes from I-88. It's almost a straight shot for me, less than 3 hours. Got home for the last minute of the MSU-UCLA game.

I believe the issues are that there is little overview in the spending and what they can see in spending as I've shown before tax payers don't want, don't want with the same magnitude of spending and moving some perhaps to the states. The overall belief is that the "soft power" as used today in many circumstances is not effective in advancing the USA interestUSAID is just one example of American soft power.
