Will IU accept a NIT bid?

Our neighbors to the South seem to be imploding right now after losing 6 out their last 7 games. Have to say that I am loving it.

There seems to be a lot going on with Woodson questioning his players toughness in the media, which usually doesn't help with team morale, and some of his players seeming to not be playing hard right now.

Unless they were to win the BT Tournament, and that has to be high Las Vegas odds, I don't see how IU makes the NCAA Tournament this year, unless the NCAA Tournament Committee were to get some NIL money.

Will IU accept a NIT bid or sit this March Madness season out?

Will Sisley jump ship to the good guys when Woodson is fired?
I'm wondering if they will make the B1G tournament

Yeah - Painter talked about it again post-game - you have to think he and Brantley are reminding him. Painter was his usual blunt self - "they're legitimate fouls, and you have to be better than that..." [paraphrasing].

You can't totally avoid fouls - it's the cheap one or nickel/dimer really early that's been a problem.....then it forces to be tentative or he has to go out inevitably because too much action comes his way. Last night was a reach in the lane less than two minutes into the game.....could have been a no-call, but you don't want to put it in the official's hands there......

Regardless, he's been loaded for bear lately.....and also sparing myocardial cells with his recent FT prowess......haha.
TKR said after the game that he has to keep his emotions in check. He feels like he doesn't get the whistle on the offensive end and it causes him to be more aggressive at times defensively. He said he needs to be more steady mentally.

Very cerebral response that didn't surprise me at all given what I've heard about him.

Gorin flips to L'Ville ?

When I saw this on the Louisville site a little while ago, was wondering whether he was a priority for the new staff. Would think that Odom would be planning a lot of portal additions this May to get Purdue back on track in a hurry. And of course if Odom’s successful, he can always lure Gorin back after Louisville has put in a couple of years developing him. It’s the business model we have these days … recruiting the entire roster very year.

Good luck to the Boilers!

Now if we can just figure out how to keep him on the court and out of foul trouble.

We knew he was going to U of L that day that Purdue hired him. He owned a home in Louisville throughout his tenure at WKU and Purdue, and it was widely known that was his destination school. So Purdue paid him millions to get cozy with the HS coaches in the region and he's now using that against us. Anyone who thinks he was a good hire for Purdue is too naïve to know when you’re duped.
Except when he was here he represented us to the fullest extent and did his job.

Now do Walters…

Brohm has taken like 7 kids in 3 years from us. That’s HS and college players. All 3 of the ones that were active roster players stayed at least until after Walters told them they wouldn’t start (Miller, Allen) and/or tanked the program (Moussa).

But yeah…keep being mad at the guy for taking his dream job. It’s petty when you won’t say shit about the guy who was coach here for 2 years and clearly did t take his job seriously.

Michigan State / UCLA

msu is really not very talented, basketball skill wise. They’re fast and athletic but they lack guys that can flat out play.

Both Fears and Holloman are back-up pg types. Akins shouldn't be your best guard. Their bigs are good enough for a contender I think. Their guards aren't.

Make them play offense in the half-court and you win, as UCLA and USC showed. If UCLA could run a halfway competent offense they would have won by 10+.

No.

Because they won't be good enough to get an NIT bid.

I doubt that IU will "lower" themselves to play in anything but the NCAA, especially after being humiliated at home in the NIT a few years ago.

As for Sisley, Painter doesn't usually go after a player once the player decides Purdue isn't the best place for him. Thinking again, he did make exceptions with Haas and Swanigan.

I really do not think there was any way he could have kept him at Purdue since we all knew it was a strong possibility he would leave sooner or later and he chose sooner!
