We have to take 3s and get that action moving early. I think we have to run offense around getting Wolf and Golden into mismatches putting them into defensive disadvantages which means driving to the hoop for Loyer, Braden and Cox etc.
It seems to me anecdotally that more players are putting up "tough" 2 point shots this year on many teams. I contribute that to being ran off the 3 point line and not getting to the rim as much as a team would like and sometimes further compounded by the clock dictating that they must try to score NOW. I would love to see Purdue shooting well behind the arc AND getting open enough to actually do so. This is one of those times you would love a 4 man that could stroke it AND drive the ball, but I'll be happy if the four man can just stroke it.

Berg is getting 0 playing time. If played, I hope he has the best game of his life and can play physical without picking up fouls...and produce that three point shooting in video...

DEI this. DEI that. This is getting old. What about the white men in the secret service protecting Ronald Reagan. They failed that day Reagan got shot. So since they were white men what do you call their failure? Wasn’t DEI was it? White men fail also.
Kimberly Cheatle was a white woman in charge of the secret service appointed by Biden in 2022. She worked for Pepsi before being hired. Prior to Pepsi she worked for the secret service.

I
Tough game with the two bigs, athleticism and some good guards with size. Big game as well. If Purdue loses, the race for the BIG would be in Michigan. Purdue needs a couple of things to happen to win, 1. Shoot at least 35% from three, 2. keep Furst and TK out of foul trouble and 3. keep turnovers within reason. It would be nice to get one and of their bigs in foul trouble.
It also needs at least one of Colvin or Heide to do something more than they've been doing.

We can't have both of them disappear.

With OSU loss this is biggest game of year. We will be 3-1/2 to 4 pt favs , but I am very concerned that this is our worst matchup in Big 10. They are biggest team, with 2 talented 7 footers with one of them who plays like Braden. Not sure how Furst and TKR shuts this down. They run PNR with these 2 bigs only often . Wolfe is an amazing playmaker for a 7 footer. Typically I always love Painter the game after a loss, but just don’t think we match up here, others thoughts?
Does Purdue perimeter beat Michigan's inside game and how does Trey do in the short roll or at the rim? A concern for me is the automatic switching on 1-4 where too many times a Giccari, CJ and Braden are on a big that heads to the rim. It has NOT hurt Purdue near as much as it could have for whatever reasons, but that is a concern! I am unaware of Michigan's three ball, but if Purdue can go under screens then there will be less switching. I think Caleb is good enough on the perimeter to make it more difficult for Wolf to get in the lane off the dribble and front enough to hinder the high low. Cam giving up a few inches "should" be able to do this as well...and if Cam can stroke it, that takes away some help on Trey inside and so Purdue could use one of the better games from Cam. I look for them to take the ball against Trey, because if Purdue sits him due to fouls...Purdue most likely loses an inside threat and then the only hope is that small ball is hitting behind the arc.

FWIW, I watched Myles stroking it before and half time of the game and it sure looks like he jumps higher than he practices on his shot. I'm not close enough to the court to know for certain, but his warmup looks like an easy 4 inch jump or such where he appears to be balanced and more relaxed...somewhat similar to Jay Edwards who Knight said was a lazy shooter, but we all know could stroke it in a game

A Revolution of Common Sense - A Seminal Shift in Values

Hey, if you don't want to talk about it just say so. How do you communicate with people who want to hide from the truth? You answer with emojis or non sequiturs. Just cowards that can't bring themselves to say anything against that doesn't fit their politics.
We’re laughing at you, not with you.

When I'm wrong, I'm wrong......

I'm sure it will come across as an excuse but I didn't think Purdue got a great whistle at home, particularly in the second half. I thought that Thorton got some calls where he just put his head down and went to the rim that could have easily been no calls. Braden got trucked on the last inbounds play and didn't get the call.

To their credit, OSU played super physical on both ends, and Purdue, IMO, didn't match them. Purdue missed a ton of makeable shots and OSU hit some tough ones, but Purdue still wins if they don't get outhustled and outmuscled in the second half.
I do not have any data whatsoever on highstepper, but it seems to me that Purdue struggle when he refs...and he "seems" to be doing more games this year in the BIG. It has been expressed that he is a fan of Duke as many are...and so he may like the more physical, athletic game...and none of this has any empirical support either way. Right or wrong...I don't like seeing him do Purdue games

We'll never know. But I think him sitting so much got him out of sync and he never got it back in the 2nd half. He is so used to playing all the minutes, it's very unusual for him to sit so much. Broke his rhythm, I think. I'm not saying it is the sole reason we lost by any stretch. I just think we would have been better served to just let him keep playing as normal. On to Michigan!
If I recall Matt did put him back in twice for a possession...maybe two. No doubt had Purdue not maintained the lead, he would be back in the game. Tonight will be a tougher game, but expect Purdue to come out more focused...which hopefully results in less misses when open, more 50-50 balls and so forth

Or what you don't want to hear. Or you do know about it but don't want to admit trump has flip flopped once again, this time on HB1 visas. Or that it flies in the face of AMERICA FIRST and takes jobs away from Americans. Or that many MAGAites don't like the idea of him caving on his promise to get all the illegals out of the country. Or that he's bowing down to his billionaire business buddies like First Citizen Musk.

You don't "need to be told"? How about being informed? Don't your news sources tell you about such things? You........ the king of accusing dems of only believing what the liberal media tells them. You aren't any different.
relax Bob...we shall see the actions later to have a better understanding. Long before we found out your media sources were all complicit in lying to the public, the media was talking about Trump getting a divorce...all due to seeing him not holding his wife's hand when walking.

Purdue - Cradle of Coaches??

The one I know off the top of my head is David Blough who is on staff with Washington as asst QB coach. Kingsbury has been complimentary of his coaching, and it was reportedly a Blough drawn play that Kliff called to get the winning TD against Philly in the regular season.
It's been talked about on here, Blough I think is someone who we should maybe be keeping an eye on as a QB coach and/or offensive coordinator down the road. That is if he wants to coach in college.

Fwiw, I'm pretty happy with who Odom brought in though (qb coach from UCF).

Anyone in Indiana who can’t succeed on their own merits can just move across the state line into Illinois.
