I can see how, if used properly, they would allow a second-year coach to more rapidly obtain the players to build the team he wants.
Doing so through the recruitment of only high school players (with an occasional transfer that had to sit) would take years to first establish a reputation then obtain enough players. Now, that can be done within an a single off-season.
Let's hope Purdue young coaching staff can quickly unify and develop their new talent into a team that wins.
