so why last summer did voters and posters here want a complete Islamic ban on immigration?

During the campaign Trump said a lot of things as all candidates do. in December of 15' he called for a total shut down of Islamic immigration because at that point Obama had announced taking 10,000 Syrian refugees in one year. Officials in the Obama administration were quoted as saying the US had no way to vet that many people in one year. Trump was taking advantage that disconnect. What matters is what Trump Does more than what he says. Ditto for all candidates. In January he ordered a temporary today on 7 countries. The Press rarely even mentions the temporary aspect of the plan.

what he did he was a partial ban.. so far. maybe he will still try to make it a complete ban later? and temporary has always been the plan. Just never defined.

a complete ban is what many voters agreed with just last year. in the linked thread, I did not read any preferences for only a partial ban from anyone here either.

maybe there is still hope once the latest judicial hurdles are overcome.
