Biden's Vietnam

Well it costs me more for gasoline, heating and cooling my home, food is up, most all goods are up. Didn’t Biden cancel the pipeline and make it harder for fracking. Our country went from energy independence to energy dependence since Biden took charge, Pass out stimulus checks and people refuse to work. Employers are paying a lot more for employees thus passing on goods and services to me. I guess you are exempt to these things.
WRONG. The energy stats aren't out for 2021 yet. That's a lie. And do you even know what "energy independent" even means? You don't sound like an educated man. You sound like a hayseed that just repeats what he hears at the bar. You think the president of the United States has a damn thing to do with the price of oil? Really? You think canceling the pipeline had a damn thing to do with the price of oil?

Did you hear about the pandemic? Is Biden now responsible for lazy people that don't want to work? Have you noticed the price of everything has gone up.......and it's really hard to get stuff? Just put on your supply and demand hat and figure it the hell out. Jfc.

Biden is responsible for lazy people that sit at home collecting their stimulus checks. Maybe if people were working there wouldn’t be a shortage of goods. And yes the president is responsible for the price of oil when the supply is reduced due to policy. The pipeline, fracking, and drilling have reduced supply.

What policy has been passed that reduced supply?

Supply reduced because the demand went WAY down during the pandemic. Prices followed. Production was cut. Now, demand is WAY up......and the price follows. Production is trying to ramp back up.

Maybe you should stop posting and take a remedial economics class online.

As has been said multiple times on here, the president has nothing to do with gas prices. The pipeline has nothing to do with gas prices. He’s done nothing about fracking.

Dude, get your news from actual sources, not the shrill sites you apparently frequent. My god.
Bullsh*T !!!! you are so stupid...............tell us what the president does have to do with, In a sense you are right because this one is lucky to know what day of the week it is. That is one of the dumbest statements ever made. The President has an effect on all of that stuff directly or indirectly . I'm sure you think his whole tax plan isnt one way or the other costing you either? Just plain stupid like the others that voted for him

My, my, my, such rage.

I simply asked what policy has been passed that has caused an increase of gas prices. Certainly there’sa policy you can reference to prove your point vs the tantrum you just threw, which proves nothing except your continual ignorance on here.

It's crazy to me that if you are even mildly intellectually curious you'd be more informed than what you see on here every day from the RWNJ's. The conservatives media echo chamber has done a number on the overall knowledge of it's viewership. Really sad to see.

You hear screams from the mountaintop from the RWNJ's about the evil MSM but the list of MSM is long and getting longer (the international news services from foreign countries are also MSM now!). Do you think there is ever a point when they see they are the ones falling for a slanted and narrow view that doesn't align to anything else that isn't rooted in reality?

The election is over and I don’t care what Trump thinks or lies about. He is out and doesn’t affect my life. What does affect my life is what Biden has done. I don’t like the energy policy, immigration, stimulus checks, and more wasteful spending. Theses things are costing me more money and overall not good for much of the population.
Gasoline $1.00 increase in the last year.
Food prices up 4%, inflation at 5%.
I talked with my sons buddy who owns a service station and told him I was going to get a new set of tires this fall.
Tire prices usually drop in the fall. He called me and said if I paid for them today I'd save $200.00 for the set.
He had to raise his prices that much tomorrow.
Thanks Joe.

Telling you the same things that have been said already over and over on the thread by others, but not getting it isn't going to change by hearing it one more time from me. I only responded to the one part of the conversation that was new material.

Just another one of Bidens big lies. I'm so proud of our POTUS.

Aug 7th

July 14th

And the beat does on… obviously libs don’t care about our desertion of innocent people.

“People rightly fear that a seizure of power by the Taliban will erase the human rights gains of the past two decades,” she said.”

This thread is hilarious. The complete lack of awareness and understanding of why we've been in Europe and Japan... bemoaning a decision that was being made by Trump just because now it's been made by Biden... American exceptionalism being so ingrained in some people that they believe we can simply force people to believe in our principles, and if they don't we should occupy their sovereign country in perpetuity until they do...

There are some people who post on this message board who are just complete idiots.

I find the empathy Bruce holds for Afghan women and children to be amazing.

I also hope he holds the same level of empathy for the women and children that come to our border seeking asylum.

I mean if we're going to invest in women and children, we have the chance to do it right here in America.

Let's divert all the cash that was going to Afghanistan's war and send it to the border to aid the women and children that are coming to America for a better life.

We can do it America! @Bruce1 let me know when you're ready to start your Pro-Border Immigration thread for the women and children. I'll be right there with you.

USA! USA! USA!

I'm with you. I just think Bruce's public moral outrage on this thread about the women and children is rich considering he's had that opportunity to make about American women and children and immigrant women and children.

Apparently though Afghan women and children hold a certain special place in his heart above American women and children and those women and children that are wishing to immigrate to America.

The sympathy for women and children is great -- when it's half a world away and it's not his children that are going to be impacted by the decision. I think, like you said, his feelings would change a bit if it was one of his kids that had a deployment coming up for it.

Apples and Oranges Boys

The suffering of people south of our borders is nothing compared to Afghans, nothing.

People south of the border are breaking the law, refusing to follow the rules to immigrate here. They are looking for improved economic lives. The Afghans are just trying to stay alive,

The American people made a committment to the Afghans then broke that committment leaving them to fend for themselves.

More American military deaths are caused from training accidents than combat.

Keeping terrorists from taking over again in Afghanistan will keep Americans safe. Letting illegals into our country the way BG is doing makes America unsafer.

Simple stuff, guys. Apples and Oranges.

Hmmm interesting "law"

Whose law is being broken in Afghanistan? Ours? Theirs? Whose law should Afghanistan citizens follow? Ours? Their own?

Laws are never etched in stone, and laws are rarely the same between different groups of people -- let alone countries.

So I won't consider the mistreatment of any individual to be a comparison of apples and oranges.

Any mistreatment of women and children (or any human) is morally wrong regardless of whether the law of that land supports that mistreatment or not.

We mistreat Americans all the time under the veil of the law. -- and we surely mistreat humans who are trying to better their lives through immigration.

So it's not as simple as Apples and Oranges. Lots of mixed-up fruit in that bowl.

Wow! What a rant. Illegals break US Law plain and simple, BG. Did you read the article re how women are treated by the Taliban? I don’t think you did. It is foolish to open our borders to anyone who isn’t willing to follow our immigration laws. I have a question for you BG. Since you are such a welcoming person, How many illegal women and children would you be willing to welcome into our country? How many? I assume you know there are hundreds of millions of people south of out border who live in poverty. How many would you bring in, BG? 1 million? 2 million? 5 million? 25 million? How many BG? Why don’t you welcome a few dozen in your household, BG? By the way, how many American citizens do we have living in poverty right now in our country? What about them, BG?

Now that’s funny, Europe has more population than the US, they have the second or third largest economy in the world and we are their primary protector? Japan has enough people and economy to protect themselves too.

Afghanistan has some “jive group like the Taliban”? You sound just like Pres Obama calling ISIS a JV team, LOL.

Given your views on race I would think you would be against the US protecting all those white racists in Europe and against deserting people of color in the Middle East. SMH.

Lastly, you don’t care about women’s rights in Afghanistan?

BNI only cares about black people.

I don't think this country is near capacity.

Birth rates are plummeting in this country, and we're setting up to have a real issue in the coming generation. Our system is a freaking ponzi scheme, and if we don't add more people to the pyramid it's going to crumble.

So if we aren't going to be producing babies then we should be creating a system where those who want to come here can get here.

P.S. just ran in to an immigrant family last weekend that I had no problem assisting. Husband, pregnant wife, and their son. Looked like a great family. I appreciate that I was in a financial position to help them.

P.S.S. Go see the UBI thread for my thoughts on poverty. I don't think trickle-down economics works for the middle and lower classes, and there has been a lot of positives that have come out of the last 18 months economically. I'd like to see a more widespan trial of UBI explored. It has shown promise, and ideally it could lead to being a replacement for welfare, food stamp programs, etc.

The US has had a system in place for 250 years and it worked.
The new system is let em in, Ship em out. In the middle of a pandemic no less.

I would still like to know your number of illegals you would accept? What is your # ? You also did not comment on the number of existing poor people that we have in our country who are American citizens already. Illegals are law breakers. Does that matter to you? Apparently not. One thing that I will never agree with liberals on is that the laws of our country are really only guidelines that can be changed at the whim of whoever is on power.

There should not be ONE illegal allowed in this Country.
There should not be ONE legal allowed that tests positive for Covid.
WTF does illegal mean? Oh wait, Liberals are redefining many words. Maybe illegal no longer means against the law.

I don't have a number of immigrants. I'd love for the number of "illegals" to be zero. This is why I'm a supporter of restructuring our nation's immigration laws to allow for more immigrants. Because as I said in my last post, this country needs more citizens. The current number of citizens isn't reproducing at a high enough rate to keep the Ponzi scheme going on our own.

I know your number of illegals is Zero.

But I'm guessing you also must have an overall number of immigrants you would like to see? I mean you're asking about numbers. What's your number, and where are we at in relation to your number?

You also did not comment on the number of existing poor people that we have in our country who are American citizens already.

Yeah, I'm for helping poverty-stricken American citizens. But I thought you weren't? Isn't it a pretty strong, right-wing principle to let people sink or swim on their own?

If conservatives don't want to help the poor in America that shouldn't stop immigrants who want to come to America and work their asses off to be successful.

I have some hardworking immigrants in my yard right now working their ass off to not be poor. I hope more people that share their work ethic can find their way here.

So what do you want to do to help the poor American citizens? I'm open to finding common ground here to help lift them up.

Illegals are law breakers. Does that matter to you? Apparently not. One thing that I will never agree with liberals on is that the laws of our country are really only guidelines that can be changed at the whim of whoever is on power.

I think the immigration laws in this country need to be changed. Let's pass some serious immigration reform so all "illegals" aren't illegal anymore. That's what I'm for.

.....

Now in closing, here's where I think I defer with most conservatives when it comes to immigration. It is my view that conservatives (in their current form) view any immigrants (illegal or legal) as "takers". That these "outsiders" are coming to this country to take your jobs, take your welfare, create crime, etc. They believe this primarily out of fear-driven media that they consume.

I don't share those beliefs

I believe that a vast majority of immigrants (legal or illegal) are coming here seeking a better life. They worked their asses off to get here (legally or illegally). Some sacrifice literally everything -- financially, family, friends, culture, language, even their lives, etc -- to make it happen.

Not all of them will be successful but to make that type of sacrifice provides the foundational make-up of what our ancestors had. They are risking it all.

I want to create a system where we give them their shot. I think this country will be better for it.

It would appear you have changed your mind about illegal immigrants. Before you were supporting them. Here is part of one of your earlier comments:

"Let's divert all the cash that was going to Afghanistan's war and send it to the border to aid the women and children that are coming to America for a better life."

Now your number of illegals is zero. Im glad you have changed your mind. For me, I agree with prior discussions that put forth the plan to first secure the border and when that was done develop new policies that would greatly increase legal immigration and deal with DACA kids and other good people who are earning their keep, To me the number of legal immigrants could be 5 million a year or even more. It would take some study to determine the best number but I could see it at 5 million.

Lol. No.

I still want to help women and children at the border.

I'm not changing my stance on that.

Immigrants can come to the border and ask for asylum. That's not illegal.

Let's help those women and children. Since that's not illegal, AND they are women and children I'm sure you agree too that we should help them

A good starting point is to let me know what your number is . How many should we help?

@Bruce1 let's not abandon this thread. Would love to hear your expanded thoughts. I'm curious.

Also, since I last posted I just was reading up on the most recent census data.

Here is an excerpt

------
Overall, the U.S. grew by 7.4 percent over the last decade, down from 9.7 percent in the previous census.

"The slowdown in population growth this past decade is evident," said Marc Perry, senior demographer for the Census Bureau. "Only the 1930s had slower growth
------

This seems to confirm the basis of my thesis. We need more immigrants. Birth rates and the current pace of immigration aren't keeping up with the required population growth our economy needs.

The result? The slowest population growth since The Great Depression.

Chime in. These are serious issues and they need serious thoughts from people on both sides.

Let's lower illegal immigration to as close to zero as we can, while also enabling more immigrants to come to this country without outdated immigration laws.
