Should have known it would happen after twin degrees said he was for sure coming back. Always go with the opposite of what he says.at IU. Presser at 3 pm.
I also thought they would give him one more year. He was COY in BIG10 last year and had injuries to deal w/ this year. I think they need a glue guy and a steady PG on their team which lacks direction on the court.Should have known it would happen after twin degrees said he was for sure coming back. Always go with the opposite of what he says.
I'm sad to see Peeping Tom go too. I got a kick out of how neurotic he was on the sidelines, always glad he wasn't our coach. It's a sad day on our board.
Sort of like how comedians will feel when a comedic material gold mine public figures goes away.
I'll miss his super intense learing at opposing players as he tucks in his shirt...repeatedly.
And recruiting tweets. I'll miss you CTC.
This really is crappy for us. IU can land top players in part due to name. Add in a really good coach (CTC was ok) and IU can be very good.
That said, they've had several since Knight and no one has been overly special, so I'm not too worried about it at this point.

That is somewhat right, but even CTC could get great talent. IU will get a good /proven coach and be back quickly if they can keep most of the roster.IU has won nothing in the kids they are recruiting life time. IU's name is not what IU fans want to think it is anymore. Kids care far more about the coach and recent success than the name on the jerseys.
I hear you, but I'll go with history on this one. Who is the last IU coach that didn't act like a clown? It's a sad day on our board.

That is the same thing we heard when you hired crean. Sorry if the rest of the B1G isn't quaking in our boots.IU will get a good /proven coach and be back quickly if they can keep most of the roster.
It is bad news for the Big Ten for sure.

Exactly. We had a winning record against their hall of fame coach and after 25 years of meh, we are supposed to instantly believe they will be good again? Hoosier fans are funny. That is the same thing we heard when you hired crean. Sorry if the rest of the B1G isn't quaking in our boots.
We really don't care who you get, you'll still be barely adequate.
What it really amplifies is their fanbases delusion. The national media (and not just ESPN) still treats Indiana like a major commodity in college basketball --- and that amplifies the program's exposure to recruits.

I did come here quite often, but coming off a 3 month ban this month. And you are here on GBI at this moment instead of your own for what good reason...?? Lol! The school that just keeps on giving...
And BTW, you guys started a 1/2 dozen threads about it and have a game to play. The school that just keeps giving...And you are here on GBI at this moment instead of your own for what good reason...?? Lol! The school that just keeps on giving...

And to answer you and most everyone else. Every major school around hope IU would keep Crean for obvious reasons, but GL with Painter and the Tournament.
And how would you know this? I assume all of the discussion on the IU board is about the firing, but I'm not so obsessed that I want to go see what they are saying. And BTW, you guys started a 1/2 dozen threads about it and have a game to play. The school that just keeps giving...
Oh com'on you want to change your sig to boiler48 Admit it, you want to be a giver too.And BTW, you guys started a 1/2 dozen threads about it and have a game to play. The school that just keeps giving...

That's why he was never accepted by the fan base and didn't last long.Mike Davis was not a clown! IMO
Nicely played! I will be backing Purdue now more than ever. I just like messing with you!Our game isn't till 7:29..... Oh I forgot "It's IU", that's when the big hand is pointing almost straight down and the little hand is pointing at the up-side down hockey stick.

IU big advantage is academics. I have a part lab who could make the deans list. But IU doesn't have the mystique it once did. Any coach who wants players needs to make nice with the local AAU coaches and programs. Steve Alford doesn't scare me at IU. The only name I've heard mentioned that is a pipe dream for them is Billy Donovan. That guy would be a serious problem. This really is crappy for us. IU can land top players in part due to name. He had his moments (running around the court slapping his head), but yeah, in comparison to the others he was pretty normal.Mike Davis was not a clown! IMO
I'd add the other pipe dream Brad Stevens to the list of coaches who'd bring cache to the job and likely have success.IU big advantage is academics. I have a part lab who could make the deans list. I think it was the guy that won the second tier tourney (NCAA) back in the 50's? Might have done it twice.I hear you, but I'll go with history on this one. Who is the last IU coach that didn't act like a clown?
