Wow.........

That was Swanigan and co. giving one big finger to Izzo and the Izzone. It was a great game by a veteran team that won by playing smarter than MSU. MSU has as much talent as Purdue (even with two bigs out for the season) but Purdue has a better basketball IQ, a speedster in the backcourt, and two beasts in the paint.

Boiler Up!

expect the win
get the win
great game

down 8 under 3 to go in the first half (and with an 8-1 foul advantage!), CS comes back in and drills the 3 ball. 10-2 run to finish the half (last 2 min crucial like DD said).
and continues by chalking up another double double.
awesome effort

So far this season, whenever they're trailing, they always come back and make a game out of it (or win). That's the sign of a team that doesn't ever give up.

You know, I must admit that I didn't know what to think when PU got Biggie.........didn't know what type of player PU would get, prima donna, etc. But I will flat out say I am so happy PU got this young man. Works hard and represents PU perfectly. I hope CMP's next recruits are half as good...........well, as good LOL. Biggie, you are awesome....and so is this whole darn team. And it is a TEAM!

Yep, I had no idea what we'd get with Swanigan, but he has exceeded even my wildest dreams. The kid works harder than anyone off the court, hustles more than anyone on the court, and delivers results as seen tonight with, what...25 points and 17 rebounds. Kid is a beast and a great representative for Purdue!

Exactly...........he is becoming one of my all time favorites. Throw in his work ethic, throw in what he has overcome in life..........this kid has already succeeded in my book

Down 9 in the first half and I was yelling at Painter to call a time out. He didn't and the players responded with a run.
Great mental fortitude and a strength to win on the road in that environment. Not even a freakish night from Bridges could do us in.
BTFU.

Bridges played his best game to date, Vince struggled and we still seemed in control the entire game....even when PJT had to leave in the first half....I wish we played every game with this type of poise and focus. BTFU.

THAT was a monster win. I know it seems like I'm overstating things, but that win affects the BT race, our recruiting battles with MSU, and perhaps most importantly, our confidence as a team and credibility as a program. The best way to consistently beat them for recruits is to prove we're better than they are on the court. We did that tonight. We need to do it again in the rematch.

So proud of the team.

Showed some real toughness on road - played inspired. May have turned a corner
Without question the best road performance and effort of the year...in maybe the toughest road game (I think it was tougher than Louisville, especially in that it was close to a "must win" game for MSU).

Game easily could have gotten away when MSU had a nice run and had that 8-point first-half lead, but Purdue responded (at both ends) and did some nice things to get the lead back (and they should have had it really at the half, as somebody should have stopped Bridges at some point before he went the entire length of the court for a virtually uncontested layup...hell, they only had 3 team fouls at that point, even giving a foul somewhere along his gallop from one end to the other would not have been the worst thing).
