Bob Huggins may not be done coaching just yet.

A new report suggested Monday that Huggins could be a candidate for the vacant McNeese State job. Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 reported that Huggins is among those being looked at as a potential replacement for Will Wade.

McNeese State demonstrated they are not averse to taking risks by hiring Wade in the first place. At that point, Wade had been fired from LSU for major recruiting violations, and he had to serve a 10-game suspension at the start of his McNeese State tenure as a result of those violations.

Hiring Huggins would be a similar risk. The legendary coach was forced out by West Virginia in 2023 after a concerning DUI arrest and has not coached since. However, he remains one of the most successful coaches in college basketball history. He has 935 career wins to his name, most of them coming with Cincinnati and West Virginia.

Huggins suggested he was retiring from coaching at the time of his ouster, but went back on that and suggested West Virginia had forced him out. Clearly, he is still interested in coaching again, but it remains to be seen if McNeese will offer him that chance.

I say .......Bring the Hug back.

The man is 71 years old, and a lifelong alcoholic let him fade away IMO.

I remember that football game on Labor Day in Cincy, early 2000's. Someone had a hired a plane with banner to circle the stadium for the entire game. The banner read "Bob Huggins has no integrity". Extra entertainment!
