In 8 2/3's seasons. In the three seasons when she had some talent from the previous regime she lost 9 home games, or an average of 3 per year. Since she has been playing exclusively with her talent she has lost 25 home contests in 5 2/3's seasons for an average of more than 5 a season with 4 home games remaining. Versyp's fewest home losses came in her rookie season when she inherited two senior McDonald Americans and lost just two home games. Since then she has never lost fewer than three home games in a season and has lost four or more four times with a high of six in her first year with exclusively talent she recruited. This year could be the highest number of home losses since 1983-84 when they lost 11 home games and finished 5-23 for the year.

Prior to Versyp's arrival the Purdue women had lost 32 games at home in 19 seasons dating back to 1987-88. That figures out to an average of .593 home loses a year. During that span Purdue went unbeaten four years, lost just one home game 5 years and only lost as many as four games twice.

This is a program that proudly proclaims they have had never had a recruiting class that has not been ranked in the Top Twenty-Five in the nation. Yet the evidence suggests that It has been obvious from the beginning that Purdue lost a huge home court advantage enjoyed and protected by four previous coaches. And this is the type of record that has earned Versyp a long term contract with big dollars for wbb.
