Wisconsin at Purdue: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Tough coupe games, we have a good team just not really good since 2/3 guys are typically the main show.

I think we were always way over ranked and the first half of conf schedule was easier than backhalf

Hopefully can steal a couple tough ones down the stretch and surprise in conf champ and bth tournaments and the a few from the other 7 emerge, Colvin had good 3s, so there that

Going into next year need another 4/5 and West, DJ, will improve depth

Purdue is based on depth and Cam/Miles/Cox/Harris will come out of this year as big time depth next year as Jr and soph

Don’t bail on boilers

And we have absolutely no rim protector.....Do you think Loyer or any other guard can stop a guard who drives? Drives to the rim where there is no one ? TKR is not a defensive player... And other that Jacobson , who is on this roster? We need a banger inside
Some of that is true, but we even seen this with ZE.

They got 72 points from. 6'4"-6'5" guards. That just isn't rim protection. Oh yeah. Look at the 3's today that they made. That's not our bigs guarding them.

I know what your sayin, but we don't get any blocks any, hell Happy Gilmore had 2 on Smith alone. Next yr w/ the 15 I could see adding another big esp if Berg hits the road

Really all on our defense. We only had 4 turnovers, shot 3 ball well and shot overall well, plus outrebounded them. Probably needed Colvin sooner with more minutes to guard Tonje. Colvin played good today. And Smith had 12 assists against 1 turnover, he wasn’t terrible.

I’ll also just say it. Tonje being a sixth year and Klesmit and crowl being fifth years is tough. Can’t wait until that’s done
Surprised more people aren't talking about this. Tonje and Klesmit should be good. They're like 25 years old. And Crowl. And Gilmore.

Meanwhile our roster is composed of, you know, actual college age kids.

I know.. I really feel like the top of college basketball is going to be decimated next year with the fifth year rule going away. Probably why there are rumblings of just making that rule permanent. Really hope it doesn’t and Purdue effectively gets two years older in one year

Wisky in my opinion is the Big Ten’s best team, Purdue needs another scoring option, Paint at the least needs a bonafide portal add on next year, he’ll bring one in, trust me, some players will likely be leaving.

Garl has changed his total offense to fit his current team. They may not be the best, but they're in the top 3 for sure come tournament time.

Gard is certainly not among my favorites for a host of reasons, but he is a darn good coach and flies a little under the radar at times. He's finding his guys, and they are pretty mobile at every position.

Wisconsin is really good. They can score a lot and played a pretty good game plan. Boilers need to overcome this however by not allowing so many threes and turning the other team over.

Just looked back when we played Alabama. Why are we playing Berg anymore. Why did he feel comfortable playing him against a top 5 team, but not now.....what gives?

All the preseason all Americans except Flagg are all fifth years — Broome, Sears, Dickinson, Kalkbrenner and more

Baker mazzara from Auburn is 25 as well

How is it a tier 2 loss?

Quad 2. On the road outside NET of 75. Think Penn State was 73 - lost at home to Washington today.

Here's the Quad/NET ranking cheat sheet:
  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353
Too bad Purdue can't get that game back now, but 'dems the breaks.

That's not remotely true.
So it's not true huh. Let's look at his stats, which don't lie. Not to mention he's only scored below double figures in two games this year
