who's watching the Big10 champ game?

Hanging out and drinking with some buddies Saturday, will probably watch since they are Notre Dame fans and want OSU to lose.

Not watching, It should have been us, instead of NW. We had the opportunity, just couldn’t do it. I guess next year will be our turn.

Good luck to NW, but I don’t think it will be much of a game.

Sick and tired of losing to Northwestern. Go Buckeyes pound em!

Might watch a little but am more anticipating the bowl announcements. Speaking of which I wonder what the IU fans do this time of the season

Dawgs are better than Okla.

I agree, but I can't see them being selected now.....it's a flawed system in my view. I also don't like the prospect of two teams from one conference in a four-team playoff. Although if Georgia had held on, that's probably how it would have shaken out.

Also, the conference championship games have perhaps outgrown usefulness, other than ringing the register. $$$$$$$$

Georgia is better than Oklahoma, but Georgia lost and they will not be in the Top4. Oklahoma was 5th and they will move up. O$U will be 5th which is close but not close enough.

I was hoping, but not expecting, for NW to pull the upset. In that case the B1G West would get some respect.

The talking heads on one of the BTN shows were saying the exact same thing (Championships have lost their usefulness). What was more disturbing was them talking how a lot of the folks who make the bowl decision would "recuse" themselves because they had ties with the schools involved; the problem was it left those making the decisions with a majority of SEC leaning voters. he upshot was don't be surprised if Georgia gets the fourth spot. Their solution was to expand the playoffs, mine is for the BT and the Pac Ten to take their ball and go form another championship of their own. They'd still have a bigger viewership than the SEC and et al combined, plus they wouldn't have to compete with schools that play mouth breathers (well, excluding OSU, of course).

Well, this is exactly what people were b*tching for . . . an expanded playoff system (which accomplished little, IMHO). And now, what do we have? People still complaining . . . for the same reasons.

The direction they're going to have to go, is to take all P5 champions (plus an independent/at-large/undefeated mid-major), and use the conference championships as a means of a "play-in," for determining the NC. You don't win your conference championship, you don't get a seat at the table.

OU or OSU will have a legit "complaint" if they're left out. As will representatives of the Pac-12 . . . again, IMHO.

Although, this year that scenario wouldn't necessarily solve the problem. ND is in as an independent, and we have the same situation with UCF undefeated, and people complaining they should be in (although, there's no way they survive with an undefeated season carrying a P5 schedule).

8 team playoff, 5 power 5 champions and 3 at large. Then conference championship games are meaningful no matter what and you still have room for great teams outside the system

Georgia had their chance yesterday but blew it. Oklahoma and Ohio state is a toss up. In the end it won't matter much because Alabama will win it all.
