When will new Football staff be announced?

I would like to have a proven OC and DC to help hit the recruiting trail and bring in effective resources to help the turn around. I was a David B. fan but it would be good to get a seasoned OC. I suspect that once UNLV season is finished, things will start to shake out on who is coming over with CBO, both staff and players.

All for Blough coming aboard as qb coach. Kind of dumb not to at least give him a call assuming Odom doesn't already have someone in mind. As far as OC...that seems kind of risky to me. Literally 0 coaching experience before this year(?) To OC at a Power 4. If Odom was running his own offense then maybe you think about it, but I dont think one could even consider it given the current set of circumstances.

Brought this up in another thread. Would not be a bad choice at all. Besides OC, he's a hell of a QB coach.
Yeah, it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. He did interview for some HC jobs, so you know it would be a short-term hire, but I think it will be hard for him to get a HC job until he gets out from under his brother's shadow.

I know I am not sure what the heck he actually does and how much say he has in things.

With Odom a defensive guy I think Brian would be the “head coach of the offense.” Maybe a big pay raise with it.

I imagine he's paid fairly well at Louisville, so probably not.

Also, probably wouldn't happen him being OC here, but something to talk about while we are waiting to find out who the name is.

I don't think Brian coming to Purdue (or any other school) has anything to do with money. Its more about the opportunity to call plays and become a head coach down the line.

He would get that here. Look at Barry’s past OCs.
Agreed. I'm just saying there isn't a scenario in my mind that Louisville tries to match a salary offer from another school for him. I'm sure they are well aware that if given the opportunity to call on offense, he will walk. Doesn't necessarily mean he looks at our roster and wants to take that risk with us, but I think his familiarity with Purdue an the opportunity we have to offer make him a reasonable candidate for the job.

I'd give Phil Longo a call

She’s back!

I give you 4/5 stars.

Worked very well at unc for 4 yrs
Isn't that the truth. We have an OL that can't move people or make a hole, but, we still run it up the middle in hopes of something happening. Then, we do a drop back pass only to have WR not get separation so there is an incomplete pass or sack. Then, thinking we caught the D sleeping, we try the run up the middle again. Sweeps, rollouts, etc. seemed to more effective but were rarely called.

Wait, maybe I should apply to be the OC.

Brian Brohm is reportedly making in the $700k range base salary, and through the Purdue rumor mill was the least enthusiastic Brohm about returning to Louisville as he and his wife liked WL. Which means that it’s entirely possible he returns as OC … now I think the likelihood he’s even a candidate is small however.

Is Brian the brains behind the offense? I thought he was the NWU coach. Good grief, how many Brohms are there!!
