I would like to hear some honest opinions of what many of you think about this. Is there a legitimate chance that there will be less than 20k for the game against ISU?

Against a high quality team like VT, could the home game get above 35k? What do you expect it to be at?

Usually the early non-conference games features a Band Day type of event that could boost the attendance but not sure if the ISU game or the BGSU game has been tabbed for that. Depending on VT this weekend, do you think they'll bring 5k or more to West Lafayette?

My honest opinion: They'll announce 31k for the ISU game (including sold season tickets from students and fans but the reality will be closer to 21k. If someone that goes could give a best guess estimate I would like to see what you think as I don't think TV will show too many shots of the stands for that very reason. VT will be about 30k best case scenario.

I personally am going to see the team play in person, the game at Marshall was good for the team,it put them in a pressure situation at the end, that should help inspire them to get over the hump and win some of these close games, not giving up on the team for one loss , even though it drives me crazy thinking Purdue should have won. If Purdue wins big Saturday, I think attendance should be pretty good against VT.

I'd expect a pretty good ISU crowd. Close to TH and they probably feel they have a reasonable chance of pulling the "upset". Not sure how well VT fans travel.

Home opener(pending on weather 60's with chance of rain)should bring 35k since ISU is close and students will show up for opener. VT travels well, should get close to 45k if we beat ISU soundly.

As a Purdue fan, I would hope we have good turnouts for both games. ISU is the home opener and will draw some folks because of that. VT game is a chance to watch a quality opponent and as a fan would be a fun game to watch an upset.

I am disappointed just like everyone else with the lack of wins Purdue has had lately, but we need to support this team and be in the stands to cheer them on.

These aren't the games to watch attendance.

Home opener attendance has literally been the highest attended game at Purdue in a few seasons recently. Couple reasons for it: 1) You don't have a bad record. 2) Ticket specials are usually very aggressive - and like you said, a lot of promotions like band day, family day, etc. 3) The student turnout for the first game is typically strong

If you go back and look at our attendance - our non-conference attendance typically hasn't been the low marks of the season. It's actually Big Ten games.

Last season, our home opener vs. Western Michigan had 37,000. Our last 2 games vs. a ranked Wisconsin team (with few thousand Wisconsin fans) and vs. Northwestern had less (Northwestern was 30,000).

I tend to agree with you,but I will be pleasantly surprised if 45k show up for VT,even if Purdue somehow beats ISU soundly.I will be at both games,so Boiler up!
