By keeping Walters as HC, the Administration is telling the Purdue fans that they have no problem being the Big Ten cellar dweller. The school still gets it cut of the Big 10 revenue! The fans are foolish
enough to still buy tickets and show up at the games, so why get stuck with a buyout when there is no need to!

I pretty much think there will be a new coach next year

We have no idea what's going to happen in the future. He could be fired tomorrow, next week, end of season or get another year.

With the very likely possibility of us not only losing our remaining games but getting our teeth kicked in, I believe he is gone and the blowout against IU will be the final nail. Instead of the fans being foolish, I think it shows they are loyal and love their school. The crowd at Northwestern was impressive and I am sure the one at Penn State will be too. I use the games as an excuse to see my family 6/7 extra times per year and will still do so no matter what the result.

How does he expect season ticket holders to “unbuy” their tickets - since we’re so foolish?
I bought the tickets - I’m going to use them.

Never said anything about unbuying tickets, but to send a message to the Administration do not buy them for the 2025 season. Furthermore, just because you have tickets does not mean you have to go to the game.

It looks to me like the administration is more concerned about the upcoming NIL ruling. That will require Purdue to pay out a lot more than they have been giving, and there is no money left for any buy out and there are no Purdue alumni stupid enough to just donate $5-10 million just so 10 fans on this forum can be happy!

I know I’d rather watch losing football than shell out $5 million for a new coach. A new coach isn’t going to guarantee anything.

There was another school where after having a bad year, the coach agreed to renegotiate his salary and accepted less money for the next season. I believe this is the path BOBO is most likely to pursue rather than cave into the demands of a few fans on an internet message board!

If you really want something to happen, find out who the rich donors are and ask them if they can spare $5 million to make you happy. I already know what their answer will be. That’s why Walters is still here. That’s probably also why he was hired instead of a more experienced, successful coach. If Purdue’s rich donors really wanted Purdue to have a winning season, Walters would not have been hired in the first place.

So the joke is on you! The rich alums and BOBO wanted Walters! They obviously still do. So accept the fact we suck! There’s always Purdue divers. Indoor track season is about to start!

If you want our rich donors to pony up some money, let’s have a division 1. Hockey team! What really is the point of being a club sport? Do we have a club gymnastics team too? How about we save a lot of money and make our football team a club sport. It worked out really well for Marquette!

Let’s face it. Nobody at Purdue really cares about football. It’s just an excuse to waste 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon in our man cave eating pizza and drinking beer. What other purpose does it serve?
