Well, O.G. is gone.....

I don't see how he's a projected 1st rounder especially with the injury

It's all about his athletic ability. Also his arms are freakishly long to the point of being able to guard much taller guys and why you hear them say he can guard the 1-5. I personally wouldn't take him in the top 20 but somebody will thinking they can turn him into Kawhi Leonard. There is an enormous gap between what Kawhi did in college compared to what OG has done but a players max potential is typically based off of how athletic they are. OG has a high ceiling but is still a risk as are most prospects drafted on potential vs production at the college level.

I suspect he got antsy/borderline terrified, and I don't blame him. My comment has nothing to do with Crean or the new coach, but when a player starts the year as a top ten pick, sustains a serious injury, and drops to a mid-teens pick (Draft Express has him hovering around the 15-16 range), that has to be scary for a kid.

I would have been surprised had he not declared.

you only have to look at greg oden to realize why he is going early. had oden stayed he would have never been drafted

Don't really care unless he plays for Purdue.....he doesn't so why is this on here.
His going or not affects how good IU will be next year. Hence it is reasonable to put it on this board. I don't think you should be too critical of Twin degree and what he posts. After all, you started the "your wife or the Boilermakers" thread..

It's down time for basketball, so any news is good news.

Why not? If he were to stay at IU and be healthy, it would certainly be a lot tougher to beat them. And last I heard....IU and PU are rivals.
Because this is a Purdue board and not a place to feed your obsession with IU. IT's one thing to post something IU related but you do it so much on here that it's right up there with nag's constant annoying posts about zone.

Go start your own forum and post your obsessive things about IU there.

I disagree. Even so it's more that he posts something about IU as much as nag posts about zone, maybe moreso.
Since you easily recognize your fellow posters particular interests, you can now decide which posts to read, and which to ignore. Problem solved!

I do sympathize with your position Boiled, but it is the slow time, so I think we can tolerate a little wider scope of topics here. It's all good, and of interest to some of us.

If it offends you, don't read it. And if you go back and look...take the time to do so...come back and tell me how many IU threads I've started. But since PU and IU dislike each other, and are what some would call "fierce rivals", one or the other losing key players, in my opinion, is material for discussion.

Or are you just an angry IU fan in camo?

Oh...since I know you won't do it, I went back 10 pages and I started five posts....three about Swanigan, one about the staff and what they've done this year, and one about OG.

May you be blessed with peace and love in your heart today, and may those you meet be exceptionally kind to you.

Check your info I didn't start the your wife or boiler thread, I just gave my opinion.....shows you don't have your facts straight either.

I understand but I don't care about IU until the week or sometimes day we play them.

IMO could care less what happens down there until we get the chance to kick their ass and like history shows we usually do.

My question to you is, "Is Taylor going to contribute in a huge way this year, or is he done?"

I wish I could know the future...I for sure then would be long retired and sitting on a beach somewhere, unfortunately I can only guesstimate or stay positive in my thinking.

IMO, I think Taylor returns and does well and gets all of these negative doubters off his back. The young man loves Purdue and brings so much passion to his play and to the team.

I think he will be a huge piece of the rotation and already is a huge teammate.

For some reason I thought you had connections with the kid or his family. He does deserve a shot this year after what he's gone through.

Another fine example of pot and kettle. You are called out here very often by many posters for all your iu posts you have made and it goes back much farther than just 10 pages. During the season you would make posts and I have called you on it before.

But you're right, it really is a simple fix and after this response I will be putting you on ignore since the only thing you have to offer is anti-iu postings that have no real worth here.

I second that! Me really hopes B-Ball works out for him, and his body agrees with it

Nope just his biggest fan or one of them.....

Just to clarify, I have nothing against you, just not a IU fan and don't care about them or anything to do with them until it is time for us to stomp the life out of them.

Sorry to miss-identify you as that culprit. It is because I keep switching from one device to another and don't pay close enough attention to the placement of the OP from Apple to IPAD to PC. My fault!

I started the "Your Boilers or your wife" thread. It was meant to be lighthearted and others responded.

Having been a passionate Purdue sports fan for 50-plus years, perhaps me having a sense of humor about them is sacrilegious.

I've enjoyed your posts through the years, mathboy. Even when you questioned my first, to which I replied, based on number of posts, I had now doubled my board credibility.

Quantity matters. So does quality. Boiler up!

I agree...not sure why you sent this to me I am not mathboy.

It's all good. I am Mathboy, but I drive a Chevy, and I was around in 1952 (very young). I was around in '77 too, so close enough, eh?

I know the "Boilers or your wife" post was light hearted, and I appreciated it. In another thread I misidentified the OP and questioned someone who made a very humorless post as the author of the "Wife" thread. I started this confusion. I apologized to a couple of the posters I crossed up. Maybe it would be good for me to just shut up for a while?

no don't stop or shut up.....you're too valuable here

Keep the good stuff coming

Please DON’T shut up. There aren't many of us Boilers left from the 50s who now live in Michigan. Our wisdom cannot be replaced.

How do we know you're not Mathboy? Have we ever seen you in a room together? Hmmmmm?.Hmmmmm?
I may have to use some of my "special abilities" to get to the bottom of it. This is as important as finding the real JFK killer, Jiffy Hoffa and how Nicolas Cage went back in time:
