Trailed most of the game but always close. Isaac and Vince got into foul trouble early and were a bit limited.I missed the game. We won in overtime! anybody want to say how?

Very similar score by quarter as last nights game except trailing.
Horrible shooting from outside.
With about 90 sec left in regulation we were down 7.
We hit a couple threes and got an and 1 inside to tie it up. Wound up in OT where we just ground them down and stretched it out to about ten for the win.
Haas has a ridiculous shooting percentage in the two games.
looks like this will be a 9 man rotation most of the time.
If we get our shooting from deep back to expectation, look out!
So strange with that since it appeared Team Canada could maul our guys without a whistle.Ewing has played hard but his quick fouls have cost him time.
Not many phantom fouls as the refs were from the NHL where they watched the play, looked at the outcome and if the foulee ended up two rows in the bleachers they blew the whistle. Isaac got abused and held regularly and got whistled when he tried to clear the bugs off of him. From what I saw at the game, Canada got away with holding and grabbing Purdue players alot. Looked also like some phantom fouls called both ways.
I kept saying that the refereeing wasn't too bad. I've seen worse in the B1G. This will be good prep for this team. Not many phantom fouls as the refs were from the NHL where they watched the play, looked at the outcome and if the foulee ended up two rows in the bleachers they blew the whistle. I was only considering the wug but yes the rest of the season with Haarms and a more prepared Ewing will get mighty crowded.Hard to say what the rotation will be since Ewing came late and Haarms isn't playing right now.
I think off the bench Cline, Eastern, and Taylor have clearly proven themselves to garner major minutes 10-15 per game. The issue is then Wheeler, Ewing, and Haarms. Wheeler has looked good but hasn't hit a jump shot yet. Ewing has played hard but his quick fouls have cost him time. Haarms will be ok and will find a niche.
After watching Taylor's ability to defend well on the perimeter, any chance we end UL seeing Taylor and Haarms on the floor together to spell Haas and Vince? Paired with Carsen, Mathias, and Eastern/Vince..you would have the necessary defensive abilities to parlay some of the potential weaknesses BUT you get great length and hopefully good rebounding. I think a lineup I would like to see would be:
G: Carsen
G: Mathias
G/F: Edwards
F: Taylor
C: Haarms
You guys do realize that a couple of those officials were high school officials, right? And one was a nba official. Ever think Painter may have asked them to make us play thru some adversity since we are getting ready to play on foreign soil? Not many phantom fouls as the refs were from the NHL where they watched the play, looked at the outcome and if the foulee ended up two rows in the bleachers they blew the whistle. I considered that when I saw some of the calls -- and non-calls. Even then, the reffing wasn't as bad as they'll see in the B1G. I've always suspected that coaches do that in exhibition games against lesser talent.Ever think Painter may have asked them to make us play thru some adversity since we are getting ready to play on foreign soil?
Never thought that, but he wouldn't be the first coach to do that. Could be? They were bad Friday and a different crew as well. You guys do realize that a couple of those officials were high school officials, right? And one was a nba official. The more I watch Haas in highlights, the more I think he is going to be the most improved player this year. He is just playing very well so far for the most part.Trailed most of the game but always close. Isaac and Vince got into foul trouble early and were a bit limited.

We've come back and won many games in the past. This really was nothing new.Nice to see we can come back instead of giving the lead up for a loss like in the past. Good job Boilermakers I mean Team USA.
He looks to me like he is keeping his elbows in tight and the ball chinned better as he makes his post moves. It seems to keep him more vertical which makes him stronger and better balanced. It would explain the high shooting percentage and, while he is getting quite a few fouls, they don't seem to be on the offensive end as much as in the past seasons. I'm excited to see how good he can be.The more I watch Haas in highlights, the more I think he is going to be the most improved player this year. He is just playing very well so far for the most part.
