Vince a 2, 3 or 4?

im starting to think he may be a 2 in reality and a very very good one at that. Thoughts?
think his future is at the 3 as I think his foot speed "today" is a step slower than good 2's. 6'8" three is nice size

I think in the motion offense, it would be difficult to separate the responsibilities and skills of the 2/3/4 from each other. I sometimes think such classifications are obsolete in today's game.

. He has a lot of proving to do on his 3 point shot.[/QUOTE

Disagree that would be Kendall

Right now we have plenty of 2s and Vince projects to a 3 at the next level so no, he's not a 2. His shot release is way way too slow to be a shooting guard and who knows how well he would shoot if teams start to run him off the line and chase him harder around screens. No, Vince is a perfect fit for at the 3.

Vince is going to play the same way Hummel played for us, which is wherever we need him. Vince is a point forward & can play any position needed, he just needs to be on the floor & will be.

size and rebounding goes up a little as the numbers go up whereas quickness goes up as the numbers go down. All close, but 2 & 3 are more interchangeable than the a 2 and 4 for Purdue...IMO

We know Kendall can shoot the 3 with consistency and we've seen it happen (he was shooting nearly 50% before his injury last year if I recall).

We have not seen that level from Vince. He shot 32% last year.

Hopefully he's improved it - I said it yesterday, if he is a consistent 3 point threat, that could be the real difference in this team having a good year and a great year having a Hummel-esque player that keeps defense honest.

After watching him yesterday, I am afraid he may be a 2. As in, a 2 year player. We always read about how player XYZ put in work all summer and is going to be a break out player. Vince looks like the real deal.
been thinking the same thing, but a long season ahead. Good chance he doesn't play for Purdue for four years...maybe three max?

Vince popped up at #40 overall on CBS's preseason 2016 Draft prospect list, so he's starting to show up on some people's draft radars. For what it's worth, his position was listed as SG/SF.

Other Boilers on the list:
AJH - #37
Haas - #128
Frosh were only ranked if among the top 50...didn't see Biggie on the list.
