Linked is the video of the final play. A few comments on it but first one comment.

Just because I'm dissecting this play, it doesn't mean I am blaming the refs for the loss. Purdue lost this game when they couldn't handle the press and get into their offense the first 9+ minutes of the 2nd half. And while Minny turned their D up a notch, many of those turnovers were a result of a lack of focus and/or composure on the part of Purdue players.

Now to the play:
I thought ball movement was excellentIt was a great job by Hammons to recognize the double was coming and zip a pass to Davis, but given that the double was late in coming, he could have went to his right and got a good shot offDavis HAS to take that shot. He's our leader and had an open three for the leadAfter the pass from Davis, Stephens made an excellent pass to Edwards on the interiorEdwards made a nice move on Walker. Some think he should have gone under the basket but if you'll notice Walker's left leg, it was extended and rooting Edwards out (foul?), and I don't think Edwards had the proper balance to go all the way to the other side of the basketI do believe Walker got enough of Edwards head when he went up to call a foul and I believe time and location shouldn't matter on when that call is made. Given that most players on the floor stopped tells you they thought something would be called as well.If the refs didn't want to call a foul there, they could have compromised with a held ball, which would have also been a reasonable call. That it was Tom Eades who called nothing isn't remotely surprising.
