The great Harriet Tubman removed and then restored: Why does the racist Chump administration keep doing this?

From the Tuskegee Airmen to Jackie Robinson to the Black Museum to now Harriet Tubman. Flavor Aiders explain to me, why mess with Harriet Tubman and other black figures in history? Why is it important for y'all to remove black history.

No question that it’s wrong, just as wrong as your side removing statues all around the country. History is history so all need to leave it alone and learn from it.

There is a difference between honoring historical figures and learning about historical figures. There is a place in the history books and museums for people like Harriet Tubman and Jackie Robinson and the jacked up traitorous racists like Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. However, the line is drawn when it’s comes to honoring historical figures with statues, monuments, and naming military bases. Again, and we can even put obvious racism of these statues aside for now. Why would a country like the US allow and honor with statues men like Lee and Jackson, who were traitors, that killed or led men in battle to kill US soldiers? That alone is troublesome. But yet we have true heroes in America like Harriet Tubman, Jackie Robinson, Navajo Code Talkers, Tuskegee Airmen to name a few that a presidential administration would attempt to erase their history. Then to top all of this this same administration would rename a US military base back to the original name of Fort Bragg, the racist confederate.

This is the most racist administration since Woodrow Wilson. I mean they are putting a lot of effort in this anti-DEI bs.

DEI is fundamentally racist, so this admin is the most anti-racist since Grant.
Black history is American history. So acknowledging the accomplishments of black historical figures like Harriet Tubman and Jackie Robinson, who before baseball was a member of the WW2 black tank battalion called “The Black Panthers” in the Battle of the Bulge among others is racist? How is that racist? Give me a break. Who’s crying victim now? So, you have absolutely no interest in learning more about Harriet Tubman? Did did a lot more than free slaves. She became a spy for the Union Army. That’s not important in American history?

You mentioned Grant. Grant was an awesome dude by the way.

You don't understand the historical perspective of naming military bases after Confederates. It wasn't about racism. Circa WWI the US needed a lot of troops from the South yet there was still a great deal of bitterness among Southerners about the Civil War and the “Union Army.” To recruit troops in the area, the Army allowed the local communities to name the bases. This ploy was successful and many sons of the Confederacy joined the US Army.

Fort Liberty was named back to Fort Bragg in honor of a World War II hero, not the Confederate general who had been its namesake.

I said DEI is fundamentally racist, not honoring black heroes or any other color of heroes.

That's part of why I said about the statues put aside racism for now and let me ask you. Do you actually agree that statues and military bases should be honored by erecting or named after traitorous soldiers that killed or led men in battle to kill US soldiers? Now putting racism back in this. Confederate statutes, military bases, bridges, flags etc. are very offensive to blacks. Any attempt to keep these in place is considered racist and upholding white supremacy. Plus most of these statues were erected during the height of Jim Crow.

As far as Fort Bragg, if you don’t see that it was a backward action to go back to an offensive banner then there is no hope for you. Out of all of the WW2 heroes, why Bragg? What’s wrong with renaming, if it has to be renamed, the base after George S. Patton?

As I said before, the naming of military bases and statues/bridges are not one in the same. Allowing those bases to be named by Southern locals was the brainstorm of the federal government. There was a lot of bitterness in the South that had nothing to do with slavery or racism. What Sherman did to Atlanta was nothing but flat-out cruelty. At the time that it was done, allowing Southern locals to name bases was extending an olive branch.

And I agree that the renaming of Fort Bragg was a farce. Nonetheless, it is no longer named after a Confederate general.

Trump doesn't want to. The mistakes sound like the routine bureaucratic incompetence that afflicts all levels of government.

See second paragraph, listing H. Tubman.

This is more than bureaucratic incompetence. This was done on purpose.

Anyone can list names but when you edit exiting accomplishments, which this administration has done, that’s problematic. Then addition to Douglass and Tubman, the document you posted added Sowell and Justice Thomas. Very conservative controversial figures in the black community that uphold white supremacy. These 2 negates are the last people blacks want to see in a document from the WH to so call promote black history. I understand that this is a conservative administration. So if you have to have conservatives in this document, Gen. Colin Powell and Condeleeza Rice would have been better choices. Perhaps Arthur Fletcher who worked in the Nixon and Reagan administrations. Just goes to show how out of touch this administration is to the black community.

No offense, but I think there are a lot of black people that you don't speak for.

I don’t speak for anyone. However, as far as this forum I try to give a black perspective of the topics we talk about. I’ve been black all my life. I know my folks and their views of many topics from every day life interacting with family and friends to listening to black talk radio. For example, you kinda brought up Justice Thomas and Sowell due to the WH document that you posted. I can say most blacks do not have any high regard for Justice Clarence Thomas. Most blacks do not know who Thomas Sowell is. Most of the ones that do know Sowell do not put him in high regard either.

There is a small percentage of black people that uphold white supremacy, like the aforementioned for some reason or another. Some of these are grifters like Candace Owens and Jesse Lee Peterson with YouTube platforms. Talk show host, Clay Cane wrote and released a book about these folks that was a NY Times Best Seller, “The Grift: The Rise and Fall of Black Republicans from the Party of Lincoln to the Cult of Trump. It’s a good and well resourced book about black republicans. History lovers should love this book.

You have a black liberal democrat perspective. Where do we go for the black conservative Republican perspective?

Yep, that’s because most blacks are progressive. I rather use progressive rather than liberal as y’all made liberal a bad name.

For the black conservative prospective, go to Candace Owens’ YouTube channel.

Sure you can say it, like you say all kinds of dubious things, but can you back it up with any polling?

If the hacks on urban radio don't like him, that is likely swaying uniformed opinions like yours of Thomas.

Nope. I was finished with Justice Thomas after one of his first decisions when he ruled against affirmative action way before I started listening to talk radio. Then there was other decisions that was against the way blacks wanted the supreme court to decide on.

If DJT is so out of touch with blacks, how is it that more blacks voted for him than any other Republican this time? Most blacks are intelligent enough to understand what President Donald Trump means to their future. Haters and rabble rou sers in the black community will still want to be enslaved by the Democrat party and cry "wolf" until their voices are gone.
