First to all the Vets on the board, thank you for your service and sacrifices you made.

Second here is a great story about college football players who served in the military in WWII. It is from 2004 but still very good read.

Herb Hoffman was an End on the 1943 undefeated Purdue team and fought in the Marines along with teammate Tony Butkovich on Iwo Jima and Okinawa in 1945.
