This guy might be one of the most underrated Purdue players I can remember. He gets stuck on some of the toughest defensive matchups because Biggie and Haas can't play outside of the lane. Does nearly everything good but nothing great and constantly gets ripped on for not having heart. There are many important players on the team but for some reason I feel like he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Ever since he earned his starting spot back he has played extremely hard. Sure some of the shots in the paint haven't fallen but he has been there for the backside offensive rebounds and outside of CE the only other player who can create his own shot. He's had a tough run the past few tourney's and I loved seeing him play a GREAT 2nd half when we needed it most. He deserved it and was my player of the game.

Anyone who says he doesn't play with heart is a moron. I think he definitely is on the more inconsistent end of things offensively, but he always adds a lot, even if it's not straight up points. But you're right, he gets stuck picking up some slack defensively.

I will say - E'Twaun Moore might be one of the most underrated guys. He never got a ton of recognition/credit.

When he is aggressive, he is the difference maker. Swanigan always brings it, so when VE brings it, Purdue wins.

I do feel like there is a large gap between opinions on aggression with him. He is a 3/4 stuck in a post entry offense where we almost always have a big clogging the lane. There is nobody better on the team(even biggie) than the backside offensive board and put back than Vince. He lets the game come to him and too often we expect him to force it when the offense just doesn't support that decision. His shot fake is crazy underrated with how effective he is at getting his defender to lift a foot because it looks exactly like his shot.

Definitely player of the game tonight. He was a stud. The reason he tends to be "underrated" is because he has too many no shows. Let's see if he can keep the consistency up against ISU Saturday

Um, Vince averaged like 19 and 9 in his 2 prior NCAA games.

Dude's just a baller.

He also missed the winning shot against Cincy and had the brain fart against ark little rock not knowing how much time was on the clock. I'm positive he received some ridicule then and/or the regular season this year. I absolutely think he is a baller but so often people want to rip on him even though he is dong the small things that help us win or is stuck playing out of position.

Of course, but we wouldn't have even been in those tight situations without his points and boards.

And we had lots of blame to go around, especially last year.

After looking at the overall stats, it's hard to believe the game was as close as it was. We shot 49% from 3, 52% overall. 10 turnovers, only 2 in second half, out rebounded them by 10.

We left a lot of points on the floor with some missed bunnies and FT's and they got some lucky breaks on bounces.

Kudos to Vermont. They ended with 21 assists on 27 made baskets and their own stats were pretty good.

That being said, we didn't get to the line a lot - only shot 4 more free throws than Vermont in total.

The difference in the second half was we only had 2 turnovers (vs. their 6), we had 3 more offensive rebounds and we had a +8 free throw advantage.

For the most part, I agree. But some games he dominates. Other games -- in the same system -- he disappears. From the day he played his first game at Purdue, he was one of my favorite players. History shows that he shines in the tourney and I can't wait to see him continue to dominate.

VE steps up during tournament time. Keep it going vs. Iowa State.

The saying at our house right before the game is, "hope we get good Vince tonight". He always contributes, but when he is aggressive on the offensive end we are a different team. We need good Vince tomorrow night.

The situation I like with VE is when he slashes to the basket. Biggie is usually down low for a rebound and we have 2 or 3 on the perimeter for the kickout. I'd say most teams can't afford to double VE in that situation to stop the play to begin with.

For me, it's a tie between between Vince and Carsen. I would almost consider Spike as well: he obviously doesn't put up significant numbers but he just seems like he's clutch.
Spike also knows how to find the open man. I think he's our best passer.
