1. How could the coaches have possibly believed our offensive line was a strength? They have not been able to do anything against ISU or BG. Wait until we play MSU.

2. How could you possibly play Appleby in front of Blough? Blough has so accurate, even on the run. The play of these guys is not even close.

I am more convinced than ever that the coaching staff is grossly incompetent. And that is win or lose today.

Get Blough a real coach. The kid has talent. Even Brees said so.

I can't see another win. These guys will leave Purdue with the worst record in school history.

Hazell is a good guy, he's not ready or a good fit. That's on Burke. This whole mess is on Burke.

Burke so desperately wanted to save money on football. His short-sighted approach ironically is going to cost him millions either is lost ticket sales or a buyout.

I think the penny pitching criticism is fair for DH1 - and he did quite a bit better than the DH for whom Burke opened the wallet.

Everyone should be prepared for another season with Hazell. His buyout will be more than Burke, Daniels, and the BOT will be willing to swallow unless we don't win another game the rest of the season. For everyone trying to pin this completely on Burke, the issues at Purdue regarding the athletic department extend higher than Burke.

The encouraging thing is that Blough played the best game from a Purdue QB today since Painter was here.
His passes were on point all day, hell he actually made Shoop look good.
We just don't have the horses to play a full game, that falls on the coaching staff for not recruiting better kids.

I do not want Morgan Burke involved at all in the hiring of the next head football coach!!!
Remember though that Burke utilized a committee that included several well-regarded football minds. Hazell was a hot name at the time and listening to him, I can understand why he would interview well. The issue has been his assistants and his inability to see that they are not doing a good job.

Burkes use of a "committee" tells me he realized he didn't have a clue how to go about it or, he wanted a ready made scapegoat if it didn't work out.

Butch jones was who we wanted. In betting we had the contract made just waiting for his sig. Then Colorado goes full retard and fires their coach offering him big bucks he backs out of our deal and Morgan couldn't get more than what we paid Hazell. This delay gave him enough time for tenn to call him up to the sec.

Burke had the carpet pulled out under him and tried to find the next available coach I don't think any of the flavor of the month style coaches are doing all that well anyways.

The next issue is burke letting shoop continue at purdue. It was obvious that his strategy was either too complex (didn't have the players) or poorly marked up (terrible xs and os) either way he wasn't getting it done.

I was far more disappointed in Hudson today than I was in Shoop.
I disagree with you. BG is a top rated offense and I thought at least we made them work for the yardage they got. On the offensive side, we keep trying to run the zone read with guys who cannot block mother Teresa. I thought after the starting safety was tossed for hitting high we should have a field day in the deep middle of the field but Shoop John D didn't go there often enough and kept wanting to run that stupid zone read. Also impressed with BG running much the same offense but with a shovel pass option. My how innovative!!!. We did run the jet sweep once for a TD. Wonder why we did not see it again. Also have not seen the zone read with the pass option that Appleby used early in the year against Marshall.

Wasn't Phillips' touchdown a zone read play action?

I would agree. We have not had a pass rusher since Kerrigan left. We cannot put pressure on the QB during normal plays, so let's make it easier for a passing QB and only rush 3 when we have them in 3rd and long in I don't know how many times in that game. Each time we got beat. Michigan State is going to have a field day against our defense next week.

I've asked several times on this board with no response. Who else was talking/ looking at Hazell? Why did we pay him 2m when he was only making 350,000 ?
Burke should be demoted or dismissed immediately.

I don't think he's a "good guy." I think he flat got lucky with someone else's recruiting by the way, and found the first fool to give him a guaranteed contract buyout. If he was a "good guy" he would admit this is a cluster, that he is clueless as how to fix it and walk away. The $$ he will have been paid at the end of the season nearly $7mil, is about $6mil or more too much.

Everything the guy says is BS. Self serving BS as a matter of fact, that he gets supplemental income for continually spewing. Seems Burke didn't hire a COACH he hired a PR FIRM! He is a lot like the president. Spends a lot of time talking about what he is going to fix, and how important it is to fix whatever, and maybe a little bit about how he is going to fix it then in the end nothing is fixed and the cluster-FFFK is worse. Besides not buying tickets, paying JPC fees, other donations, how about calling radio tv sponsors about I'm not buying your product / service because your advertising $$ is enabling the university to keep the worst coach ever.

similar to Jon Gruden, winning it all w/ Dungy's guys, then ran Tampa Bay into the ground under his watch.

Cuz nobody is aware that anyone else was recruiting him...

$2.2M / 350k = 6.28 6,28 x 6 years= 37.68 So Burke offered this guy the equivalent of 37.68 years of his then annual pay to sign with us WTF! Really, really who the hell is worth that kind of bump in pay? Burke must be senile.
