Yeah, it's sad, but to the left science had become a political football they can punt around to meet their political desires and opinions. It's manipulated constantly (has been since before covid even) to back up what they think. It's unfortunately been the case for a long time now that you see a scientific study and you have to question it's legitimacy and ask who is paying for it. It's really not hard to manipulate a study and design essentially valid experiments to deliver the results you are looking for. It's incomplete science at best then.
With the mask, it wasn't to hard to look at the studies, look at the experiments and see how they were setup and designed and realize those did reflect real world conditions. They were designed to work. And then they use the justification of the CDC and Doctors say as justification. Those two groups are not experts in that area, you would be far better off talking to engineers and such that actually develop and study air flow filtration.
It’s amazing how much miscommunication happens when idiots get a microphone or a Twitter account to provide their revisions to “science” or when scientists ignore other scientists data and pontificate their own (political) agenda.
Or when non-scientists or even real scientists challenge new data that changes the accepted narrative…such as how important cloth masks are to reducing transmission. GASP
And now that everyone has an N95 mask…why would you need someone to also wear an N95 mask?

No it wasn't absolutely unnecessary. The mask mandate was set to "expire" 5 other times as well, and extended every time. We know cloth masks don't work, and people were allowed to take them off to eat and drink anyway.
Meanwhile mask mandates had already ended in basketball arenas, restaurants, stores etc across the country and most other places as well.

Actually, I believe the point is, they never really had any. They are just to advice and other people have the authority to make decisions off of their recommendations. Instead it became them as the judge, jury and executor. They had no check and balance and were greatly overstepping their role.
Even in an emergency situation? The mask mandate was going to expire anyway so why make a ruling at this late stage? Seems pretty short sighted. I'd need to read her opinion but I don't think she permits an exception for an emergency. Perhaps she ruled that the masks no longer were necessary because we weren't in an emergency situation any longer but she heard no evidence to that fact she just issued her ruling, which seemed to be based upon a seat of the pants determination by her and her alone. Completely off the wall imo.
Should an agency like the CDC have unlimited/unchecked power forever? I think everyone understood the reasons in March of 2020 for deferring to CDC, two years later not so much.
They kept extending the mask mandate. They had already extended it 5 times, why wouldn't they have extended it a 6th time? We are no longer in an emergency situation.
It's not an emergency anymore and it has become more political than anything. That is a huge issue as now trust in the CDC has become very suspect at best.
You are seeing the same thing being questioned in many cases with Governors emergency powers. The original rules granting them emergency powers were written at a time when travel was far more difficult and slow, plus there was not any means to meet virtually. I think the emergency power rules are outdated and need to be addressed any many cases. That is one thing all of this has shown us.
Elected officials are put in place for a reason and eventually it's up them to represent the people that put them there and base decisions off of that, even in emergency situations when they draw at this long and there has been more than ample time for them to convene, discuss and make a decision. Governors emergency power needs to be limited to the amount of time it takes for a larger representative body to make a decision, not be able to self extend orders so they can continually act as emperor over the people.

A judge should hear evidence or base her decision on more than her own opinion. I think she made a knee jerk reaction without thinking of the long term consequences which is why it is going to be appealed. The government almost has to because of her ruling. I just came back from Florida and 75% of the people were wearing their masks like “chin diapers” (below their nose and mouth) if they were wearing one at all. But let’s appease the 25%, who if they are wearing an N95 mask properly, would not be impacted by someone else not wearing a mask. Oh and the government is distributing N95 masks for FREE!

Actually, the science says the covid virus does not get spread when you're sitting down in a restaurant, only when you're walking through one, thus why you can take your mask off when sitting in a restaurant at a table but have to wear one when waiting for your table. It's the most intelligent virus created by man.

I fly fairly regularly. Every flight I've been on several people take off their masks with zero word from anyone.
Then we've had different flying experiences. Thankfully, a judge came to their senses and masks are gone. But, if you feel safer wearing one, be my guest. Hell, wear two if it makes you feel extra safe.
