Birthright citizenship for anchor babies of illegals and federal district judges ruling on cases outside their districts. My hunch, Trump will lose on birthright kids and win on restricting the decisions of federal judges to the local plaintiffs.

Had three. Lost one.

I am curious for you maga folks. Are you for or against birthright citizenship?

Republicans are very pro constitution, or they used to be at least. You had Scalia as a full blown textualist Supreme Court judge. The 14th amendment very clearly states that if you are born in the United States then you are a us citizen. So you should be pro birthright citizenship.. right?

Well it doesn't say that literally and an amendment was passed post, Civil War, to allow citizenship to children born to parents enslaved.
The Supreme court will debate the argument.

The woke don't seem to understand that there has always been exceptions to birthright citizenship, such as children born to diplomats or to those in hostile occupation of the US. And it certainly isn't far-fetched to say that an illegal immigrant is in hostile occupation of the US.

And that's the point. The 14th doesn't say "Birthright citizenship to all, period." It allowed for exceptions and several exceptions have been designated over the years. It certainly seems reasonable that the children of illegals should not be granted birthright citizenship but we'll see what the Supreme Court decides.

I think it's a valid argument to have. But the process has to be followed......which doesn't include a freakin executive order.

OK, then how did the exceptions for kids of diplomats, children of hostile occupants, etc., come about? Congress didn't amend the Constitution. And please be aware that Trump didn't invent executive orders. Obama and Biden had shitloads.
