@boilerzz IN another thread I typed a reply to boilerzz about the fact I have typed over the years a few times about only needing one dribble to go 15 feet. I told Boilerzz in that reply that Trey went 20' with one dribble and I was wrong, because he covered more than 20 feet in the drive. This is why I believed Myles could get into the lane with two dribbles even if his ball handling was not good enough to go more than two dribble. I found this clip, but perhaps @Purdue Grad in Texas without much work can get this clip a second or two earlier. I tried to capture the video as close as possible

Thanks. I wouldn't classify Trey as a great ball handler and very fast, but was effective doing this and why I think Myles coming off a curl or even against a hard closeout sometimes can get in the lane as a counter to pressure and rotate the D and possibly score. You video showed what I wanted to know and that was prior to seeing Trey take his dribble he used another dribble and was beyond the arc

He should drive more often. We only have Brandon who can drive.
It's gotta be the right situation against the right defender, especially one who is off balance, but yeah I'd agree.

The basket that I was amazed at was in the 2nd half when he did pretty much that same move but the defense by Bilodeau was much better. I have no idea how he made the shot.

Not sure, Chi-Boiler, if this is the play to which you're referring......last 10 seconds of the highlights video below....a lot of contact both ways....fasten your seat belt!

For all the ballyhoo UCLA came in with- as this scary good defensive juggernaut- I wasn’t all that impressed…

They’re excellent rebounders, but when Purdue executed on offense, both drives to the basket and WIDE OPEN threes were available in abundance.

IMO last night demonstrated Purdue's offensive potential— it’s there!

They just need to continue to work for it.

From his postgame comments their coach was not impressed with their defense either.

Purdue played well, played hard, shot well and had a lot of effort and couldn't pull away. That was a tough game.

Is Mick ever impressed with his D? The way Trey scored at will had to be upsetting, but give some credit to Trey those jump hooks are hard to defend when he is hitting them and he was. Maybe they could have pushed him out farther. Purdue shot too well for Mick to be happy as well...

It was an odd game offensively from UCLA because it seemed like they were making the harder shots and missing the easier ones. They hit I think 3 shots against the shot clock off of horrendous possessions that didn't even get inside the 3 point line. Then Bilodeau missed 3 or 4 bunnies that simply rolled around the rim and out. But then he hit a 15-foot baseline jumper.

But I do agree that their defense wasn't really a problem for us. Somewhat surprised we didn't score more than 76.

But Purdue was pretty sharp as well not turning it over and shooting well
