Rather large glaring issues to me our 4 is just not there ,but rather have Gillis out there and Heide Smth Jones, Loyer gives more points up on D , unless is having a hot night which is to far apart .. .

Turnovers once again are a deciding factor.Loyer got abused all night. One of the many reasons for the loss. But TOs and poor offensive execution by Purdue was on everybody...including the coach.
#1 Purdue played like a #100 on both sides of the ball.
Turnovers....17.Turnovers once again are a deciding factor.
This team will only go as high as the guards can take it. Zach but he needs to be given the ball in certain spots to be effective. Guards have to be better.
If Loyer and Smith are going to play that shitty on D AND turn the ball over there will be NO BIG title/tournament title and will be another 1st/2nd round exit.
Yeah I admit I thought Smith was the best but Buie took that right back. He was insane all game. With Loyer and Edey on the floor tonight, you just don't have the tools on the floor to bother a guy like Buie in the pick and roll.I guess the discussion about Smith being the best PG in the B10 is OVER. Not close tonight.
Buie was special. Epic performance.
That's where teams like Houston, UConn and Kansas do have multiple guards with length and strength. Our guards besides Jones don't have those features.Yeah I admit I thought Smith was the best but Buie took that right back. He was insane all game. Agree with this. For as sickening as last year's loss in Evanston was because of the way NU played and the officiating, credit to NU for this one and it's clear that Purdue has a way to go.Congrats to NW for playing very well. Buie is special.
Refs missed a few calls sure, but the loss in NO way was on them. Non factor.
It was a great college basketball game. Lots of known issues exposed so the November champs can now reset in December and play for April.Rather large glaring issues to me our 4 is just not there ,but rather have Gillis out there and Heide Smth Jones, Loyer gives more points up on D , unless is having a hot night which is to far apart .. .

Really? He was all big 10 1st team last yearAgree with this. Buie was helped by poor D.....but geez, dude's pretty good. Some teams will harass him more and he is not going to play that well every night. But it will surprise me if Buie does not end up one of the top two all b10 teams.
Smith is good, very good. But outplayed by a mile tonight

We on the same page 👍🏼Agree with this. For as sickening as last year's loss in Evanston was because of the way NU played and the officiating, credit to NU for this one and it's clear that Purdue has a way to go.
Good experience for Cam Heide out there at the end, that will help him and this team long term. Zach is an all time great but it would be nice to see him take his time a bit more on some of those good looks, he still looks a little rushed to me.
Will be interesting to see how this team responds over the next two weeks.
I'm sure it doesn't bother you in the least that your opinion goes against what most every pundit and and announcer has to say on that. Well done.Careless guard play. Smith just doesn't get it. These types of games is when we need leadership from the PG.
and fans as dense as they were in collegeI hate to say it, but we have a coach who is about as mentally quick in game situations as he was as a player.
Actually, and unfortunately most have agreed that effective guard play has been Purdue's issue to make deep runs. I'm not sure where you have received any information but it's the furthest from the truth.I'm sure it doesn't bother you in the least that your opinion goes against what most every pundit and and announcer has to say on that. Loyer's D is bad and every game he makes 2 weak or lazy passes, like Smith alot but like I said last night when you have a step or 2 going to the basket, take the layup. I don't knw if he's worried about taking too many shots but when you have the opps take advantage of themRealize I had to sleep on this and not react from emotion , the problem is its even worse than my emotions...geeezzz our guard play on both ends was terrible and loyer can't pass or guard ...after watching replay and Smith just does stupid moves and passes...
Unfortunately, Edey stunts the growth of everyone else. That’s not a knock on Edey — he’s an incredible player. But it’s just the truth.Rather large glaring issues to me our 4 is just not there ,but rather have Gillis out there and Heide Smth Jones, Loyer gives more points up on D , unless is having a hot night which is to far apart .. .
Yep. Apparently Painter either disagrees or doesn’t realize it. Seems to be too stubborn.Yeah I admit I thought Smith was the best but Buie took that right back. He was insane all game. But he creates so much for the less talented guards. As long as you can drive by a massive pick and/or hand-off. He gives 2-3' of space just by his pure size.Unfortunately, Edey stunts the growth of everyone else. That’s not a knock on Edey — he’s an incredible player. But it’s just the truth.
Could be said about some of the dolts that post here too.I hate to say it, but we have a coach who is about as mentally quick in game situations as he was as a player.
If you want to go to the next level as a guard getting the ball inside is a must timing is everything but the question is who is going to step up there playUnfortunately, Edey stunts the growth of everyone else. That’s not a knock on Edey — he’s an incredible player. But it’s just the truth.
So to try to keep Boo from turning the corner and getting into the lane, Purdue switches. Teams know this so they seek out the switch they want. Course Purdue could go under screens to stay with Boo, but then like a zone you give up an open 3 ball. Boo is a much better ball player than intervieweeLoyer got abused all night. One of the many reasons for the loss. But TOs and poor offensive execution by Purdue was on everybody...including the coach.
#1 Purdue played like a #100 on both sides of the ball. Choked.
Guess this team is looking very similar to last year's.
Everybody outside of Zach was outplayed by Boo. He was greatAgree with this. Buie was helped by poor D.....but geez, dude's pretty good. Who are the guards you are referring to?But he creates so much for the less talented guards. As long as you can drive by a massive pick and/or hand-off. He gives 2-3' of space just by his pure size.
Fire Painter AND Edey!Who are the guards you are referring to?
Regardless, that’s even more of a problem. Edey helps the less talented guards, but stymies the more talented guards. That’s not good for Purdue and its ceiling.
Braden and Fletch are both limited with their lack of size. Once Cam & Myles figure things out those are the size/fluid players we will see make deeper runs in the tourney for Purdue. I want players like Jones running the PG for us and guys at the 2/3 like Myles and Cam.Who are the guards you are referring to?

Yeah, at least Braden is quick, strong, and athletic. Loyer is a turnstile on defense because of his physical limitations. Love his heart though.Braden and Fletch are both limited with their lack of size. Once Cam & Myles figure things out those are the size/fluid players we will see make deeper runs in the tourney for Purdue. LOL, Try 2023 when looking at video.Actually, and unfortunately most have agreed that effective guard play has been Purdue's issue to make deep runs. I'm not sure where you have received any information but it's the furthest from the truth.
Jones won’t be running the point as long as Braden isn’t in foul trouble and healthy.Braden and Fletch are both limited with their lack of size. The Covid extra year will soon be a over.Yeah I admit I thought Smith was the best but Buie took that right back. He was insane all game. With Loyer and Edey on the floor tonight, you just don't have the tools on the floor to bother a guy like Buie in the pick and roll.
What’s crazy is that Zach would only be 22 (since he reclassed) next year for his 5th year 😂The Covid extra year will soon be a over.
We won' have our 18-19 year olds having to play against 24 year olds.
Maybe Zach should return for another year?
Defense was a problem. Colvin is not yet ready to fix that.Listen my thing is myles Colvin played 2 minutes 2 minutes why in the hell did he play 2 minutes Purdue needs him to play more then 2 minutes if they going to win not only the big ten or national championship
As bad as those stats are you pointed out....missed 10 damn ft's...2 were front ends of 1&1.....Turnovers....17.
Poor D.
Missing bunnies.
Poor shooting.
Rebounding on Edeys missed,..non existent.
Coaching was absent.
Congrats to NW for playing very well. Buie is special.
Refs missed a few calls sure, but the loss in NO way was on them. Non factor.
The 17 TOs is very mid pack B10....not what a #1 does against a non ranked team.
