They think they are going to college to freely and openly exchange and debate ideas. They are going to be indoctrinated and it is best if one has the "correct" views. My kid would not go here.

I went to Purdue to get skills for a career. I would not go to any college that didn’t provide good future career prospects. I’d think the schools focusing on woke social majors will lose out to schools who provide real life skills like Purdue

These LA majors go to school to get indoctrinated in the latest left-wing outrage talking points. Why not have George Soros pay you to protest for a couple of years.

There is a cheerleader at Purdue that is a sophomore from Plainfield, Indiana that I do NOT know, but met her parents going through customs in Philly. They saw my Purdue gear and so we struck up a conversation. Parents said she was all set on IU, but all the mailings she got talked about being a difference, making a difference...being woke. Purdue mailings all talked about job placement and so the parents said the choice was obvious.

I am a former college instructor. Our colleges need to focus much more on career preparation. I told my kids I would pay their tuition if they majored in things that led to a job and got good grades. They did and I did. Both work in their STEM fields and make good livings.

Everyone wets themselves over college indoctrination. Raise your kids to be skeptical of wild claims and then let them decide which, if any, indocrinations they prefer.
My kids go to CU Boulder, the Peoples Republic. They aren’t buying this happy horseshit at all and neither are their friends. It seems like more a go along to get along situation. Kids still want to rebel against the man but they found a way to pervert it into an idea that rebelling against the man meant standing up for the power structure. We live in strange times.

Although I can find agreement with your intention, I disagree with the effectiveness of such. First, there are many parents that won’t do what you state. Second, children go to school with an idea that a teacher holds the knowledge and the student is to absorb that knowledge. Students are conditioned to that understanding by getting good grades when they regurgitate or parrot back what the teacher wants. This doesn’t stop and students then learn that what is read and believe it to be true fitting in with others and getting good grades as a resale on absorbing all in front of them. Students/children really don’t have the relevant background to make informed decisions until much later in life and so all they have is their previous exposure for a basis. Many students spend much more time in school and under the influence there, than in meaningful discussions with parents…should parents provide that discussion. Along with that many start to think the teacher knows more than the parent…and in a few cases that is true thereby undermining the credibility of parents.

John Dewey set out to use school for social reform. Teacher unions, ed skool and administers continually receive info in pedagogy and ideals much different than what many parents want. Most parents have no idea what is going on in school. Parents rarely get involved enough in education to understand this. Most parents only get involved if they do when the child does poorly in school and so no questions arise if the grades are good. I could go on and on in this area.

There are legitimate reasons for political gain that textbook adoption is filtered with acceptance of multicultural approval. There are legitimate reasons why teachers, students and administrators are driven to a political view. The democrats understand this and why they are so heavily invested in such…because their talons have hold of the future for many. Some republicans are just "now" becoming aware.

Educating the children is the most important thing adults can do, particularly men. The biggest problem in our society is that men farmed HR and Education out to women, who have been indoctrinated in LA communist Sunday schools, and now propagate it thru their institutions without a shred of common sense or understanding of what they are destroying.
