Hope Painter and team are watching the SFA - West Virginia game. Clinic on how to move the ball and break a press ...it can be done with the athletes we currently have.
I know. I thought the same thing. Probably played for the wrong AAU team or some BS.I was thinking that as I watched them as well. Just masterful execution against the press.
How is Walkup not playing at a P5 school?
And, if all the coaches of the schools that are getting beaten by the lower seeds step back and say "What is the common denominator for these schools that are winning?" I think the conclusion is pretty clear.
I think that's simplifying things a bit. There are extremely limited number of forwards and, particularly, centers. There's obviously a lot more guys that are 6' or what not around. So almost every smaller school is very guard oriented. But there's also a reason why guard play only gets you so far too.
Texas also in trouble at the half against Northern Iowa.
Longhorns have really turned it on in the second half....now lead by 4 with 13 to play after being down double digits in the first half.
and UNI wins it with a half-court shot at the buzzer....75-72. Wow.
Between that and the Cincy ending....tough ways to lose.
FIRE SHAKA TONITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!and UNI wins it with a half-court shot at the buzzer....75-72. Wow.
west Virginia is terrible, cannot shoot , 13:49 dry spell? wow, how awful is that?West Virginia was busy causing turnovers on themselves. Really undisciplined.
#13 thumps #3.
Sounds to me like CMP and staff need to make a road trip to Texas and learn how to attack a press!Hope Painter and team are watching the SFA - West Virginia game. Clinic on how to move the ball and break a press ...it can be done with the athletes we currently have.
I'm a simple guy. I think if someone solves the biggest problem they have - in any situation - they are somewhere around 65% toward as good as things can get. After that is solved, one can take another look and solve the next problem.I think that's simplifying things a bit. There are extremely limited number of forwards and, particularly, centers. There's obviously a lot more guys that are 6' or what not around. So almost every smaller school is very guard oriented. But there's also a reason why guard play only gets you so far too.
