I have us at 85 now, I don’t include dedrick Mackey and assume dowling is a walk-on.
Same here. The only holdovers i have are Burton, AOC, Semisi and Douglas
Washington is a maybe at this point as well.

I’ve known enough d 1 players to know that there is a wide gap between the expectations of scholarship players v walk ons. He may have hoped to see the field one day, but he knew it was a long shot.
kudos to him for putting in the work, but don’t act like he came here expecting to play

not sure how to reconcile that position, someone coming in and busting his ass, knowing he's not going to play.
There are plenty of walk ons that bust their ass and never play.

Aoc is the first walk-on qb to start for Purdue since I started watching in 1987. I don’t think one has ever started at qb. Yet he came here expecting to play?

Gents, I'm concerned Alaimo lacks the vocal leadership (and yes, I did read Tom's article/post when first released). He's athletic with a good arm. Any chance he comes out of his shell? Any idea who potentially gets bumped or are the coaches playing the %'s for injury?

Clearly, yes. He had a starting career ahead of him where he had committed, and Brohm talked him into playing for Purdue.

only have 4 scholarship QBs with alaimo. Would feel better with 5. Don’t think the eh are playing the % for injury, just good practice to have 4+ starting QBs.
Sorry. Meant the overall roster. 86 scholarship players? Agree with you on the 5 QB's--ideally top two with experience, 2 budding and 1 RS.
I fully expect we will have more attrition this summer, likely several. Last year we had 4 enter the transfer portal April-July and it seems like we always have a new commit or two not make it on campus.
