Spike and PJT combine for 7 assists and 0 turnovers.

Guard play is everything and though they didn't score much, their leadership was a huge key to Purdue winning this game.

Spike is going to be invaluable in any tourney run and congrats to Painter for getting him to come to West Laffy.

Great season for all this year.
I thought Spike played a hell of a game. Set up about two or three easy ones that were missed or he would have got assets on them. Steady hand and glad he got some time when he could this year...give PJ a rest and provides a great court awareness. Dakota made two really great passes with his off hand...what a strength. Vince and Biggie were great..really good and the tone Biggie set for the fight.

Carsen is in a major slump...that one game in teh NCAA where they don't know him will get him going. Took a couple of bad shots, but was VERY lost on McIntosh a couple of times...Bryant never took advantage, but he came out soon after. Haas still getting sped up to much and the Boilers get a little loose early with the shots, but...

NW played VERY hard and played very well. This was a very well played game adn Purdue won on teh road...big win. Lamont Simpson, the ref that called the block on Biggie at IU gave Biggie two bad calls in this game. Win, get out and celebrate....

Gonna give NW at least 10 points off of lucky bounces...just the way it bounced...

Had to laugh...My husband who didn't grow up in a Basketball World(well, until he met me...lol!) asked about 3/4 of the way through the game "Does anyone in the B1G do quality control on these referees?". Almost wet myself laughing....Old ladies do that sort of thing....

Yeah...I saw Simpson at the tip and didn't like it. Hope he does the other bracket in the BTT.

Plus Spike loves being there and it shows....!!!

After Spike dished to Swanigan for an easy bucket leading to a NW timeout, Spike was hyped. Good to see. He probably has been a little frustrated with what he's been able to contribute, but he's really starting to make his mark and he seems like he's been a great teammate along the way.

Purdue HAS to have someone that can replace PJ for fatigue, fouls whatever...and Carsen is too up and down. Knowing this and seeing a ew months ahead is why Matt was trying to get Spike time when he could, but his injury to his back didn't help. This team is growing a "warrior" mentality and as good as the baby boilers were...it takes me back to Big Dog and ZO to have that mentality.

If you are referring to the one handed bounce pass from the top of the key, that was a SWEET pass.

Yeah, I think Spike will be key even if Carsen gets hot. Because playing a lot of games in quick succession in B1G Tourney and NCAAT will make PJ fatigue more.

Need solid guard play when your team does not play well offensively. Yesterday our shooting stunk up the joint.....69 points well below our average, 21% from 3, credit to NW.......so sure the 7 A, 0 turnovers were helpful toward the win....way more helpful still was the foul shooting 17-19......+10. FT was the difference.

Yes! Spike has some pretty sweet moves - he had one in the first half that basically surprised whoever it went to it was that good (it was right under the basket - and I think we were unable to convert).

Spike's heady play and passing surprised me. I thought of him more as a shooter before the season started. His teammates need to be paying attention when he is in the game and be ready for the perfect pass. Sometimes, they don't see it coming.

He has absolutely GREAT vision and awareness. He is very limited physically, but is just a few frames ahead in the future...

I think with the past two tourney's results, I wouldn't be surprised to see Spike and Mathias on the floor for the final minutes...even up by 10 or more (if that happens). The vision, awareness, and heady play-making ability is what is needed to keep a team at a distance and win a game. As the great Jim Valvano once said....'Survive and Advance.' There are no style points in March and the only thing that matters now is the 'W'

In the final minutes we could see three guards that can hit Ft's Spike, PJ and Dakota with Vince and Biggie if available...and CArsen or Cline if one is missing...depending on that game

I can see a line-up of Spike, Dakota, PJ, Vince, and Biggie in those situations. I'd love to have Carsen's quickness in the line-up, but I trust PJ's decision making more.

Didn't notice your post, before I posted the same line-up.
