Selection Sunday

That 8/9 game winner is going to be super tough. Purdue will be fortunate to get out of the first weekend. Refs will swallow whistle probably and let the other team beat the crap out of the Purdue players.

Also super happy Rutgers didn't get in! No respect for their coach and I hate Mulkey with a passion. I wonder if Mulkey is jumping up and down wining like a drama queen as hard right now as he was during the BTT game? Have fun in the NIT boys!
I have to hope NCAA refs call fouls better than B10 refs. They are more likely to call fouls against Zach than any other refs we have seen in a while. I hope.

Memphis and FAU are both very athletic. Look for full court pressure and falling back into a zone. When not in a zone they will be able to be up into our guards on the perimeter. Either one of them will give us issues.

Bragging time!

My mock bracket I posted this morning had:

All 68 teams right
47 at the exact seed
18 off by 1, including 2 that I had flipped 8/9
2 off by 2 (Boise and Tennessee)
1 off by 1 (Arkansas)

Also had the 16 PIGs correct, but in the wrong spot. 3 of the 4 at large PIGs right, but all of the actual PIGs I had as 11s. Just had Pitt as a true 11 instead of NC St.

5 B1Gs correctly seeded, the others off by 1 (NW, MD, PSU).

Some first round lines are up already, not ours obviously.

Iowa +1
Northwestern +2
Illinois +3
Penn St +2.5
Maryland +2

I like our bracket. Other 8/9 - AUB, ARK, B1G schools, WVU, no thanks. We gonna mash those Memphis St/FAU twerps.

TN lost their best PG and leader, so they a 0. Then we crush Duke again if needed, or even better, UK. Marq is a pip-squeak. We smash them again too, or even easier - KSU.

I really hope we get to play that murdering bunch of SEC trash Ala-scumfuk-bama in the F4. Everyone in the entire country, outside of the ((deep south)) buck-breakers, will be cheering for us. Two polar opposite schools and programs. Trash vs class.

F them all. BOILER UP!

Just saw a stat that Farleigh Dickinson presses more than any team in the country. So could end up with a challenge in very first game.
Playing the 5 for Farleigh Dickinson is:
Alnmonor 6'6 219
Emanuel 6'6 196

They also have two 5'9 guards so they might just press 100% of the time because they won't be able to hold up in half court

"Memphis and FAU are both very athletic."
Those are mid-major teams, right? What is it about Purdue that scares away athleticism in recruiting?

Sorry if I missed it but I love the irony of some of the teams who made it and those that didn’t.

Jaelin Llewelyn left Princeton to play at Michigan. Princeton made the tourney and Michigan didn’t.

Pete Nantz left Northwestern for UNC. Only Northwestern is going to the dance.

Zeb Jackson and Brandon Johns will play in the tourney for VCU and Michigan won’t.

Wish I had a list of all the guards and portal guys we targeted to see how their seasons ended up.

Groin injury is hard to come back from - might be the first #1 to bow out.

I would think they might hold him out in round 1, but that's it. But I'm no doctor. I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night though.

Houston hasn't updated his status, although he warmed up Sunday. Sampson later said he really wasn't prepared to have him play. Sasser seems to indicate he'll be ready by TH, but I could see them maybe trying to get an extra game off. If it's minor, which it appears to be, it's usually a week-to-week deal......he might be somewhat limited when he does play, or he could aggravate it. A little like a hamstring deal - and the potential sudden change in lateral movement - you just never know.

Maybe they were hedging their bet in the event they lost so the committee wouldn't take away their #1 seed....
