Selection Sunday

Yes! number 1 out East! Boiler Up!!!!!
8/9 game likely gives us Memphis in game 2 (assuming we beat the 16-seed play-in winner 😊)…. I watched a few minutes of the Memphis-Houston game earlier today and Memphis is scary good. Would not be surprised to see Purdue take a loss there.
Man I hope I’m wrong, but after today’s effort, I’m not confident. At all. Just sayin’

certainly two different styles of play

I'm not sold Edey goes pro. He has a lot to learn, I'm sure he is tired of getting beat up but another year would definitely help his draft stock. I don't think he is top 10 tbh. Kentucky's NPOY didn't go pro last year, but he regressed. I think with only 6 years in organized basketball Edey sticks but we will see.... He will get an NIL payday and will have a fat insurance policy in case he gets hurt.
Uses one more year to perfect the downtown trey. :)

what a tough bracket. Outside of the first game, we have a serious uphill climb the rest of the way even as a #1 seed. Yikes!

It's a bit of a bummer we could potentially see a lot of teams we've already played. Was hoping for the surprise factor with Zach.

Memphis is inconsistent like our Boilers. They look terrible at times and really really good at others.

I hope he does. I'm curious how much higher his draft ceiling can go - I'm not sure a whole lot more so he might as well make a year to remember
Thing is, he's a back to the basket center and there's not many playing in the NBA. I think he comes back for sure....he's having fun, always smiling, and getting a lot more aggressive. Be great for the 7'2" kid to learn more

The opportunity is there for the Boilers - gotta let it all hang out and go for broke. Purdue can beat any of the teams in the bracket - of course, on the other hand, plenty of teams in the bracket could also take them down.

Going to be an interesting next couple of weeks.

I agree - I genuinely wonder if he will try to add more variability or his game during an additional year with the goal of improving his stock

I'd think about having him/Painter call Kareem (use the Wooden connection) and get some help on a sky hook.....the kid will work his &*^ off. Edey's improvement this year was off the charts.

Well at least Purdue will be aware they are going to be playing talent. They won't take anyone for granted. Surprised the talking heads didn't mention we beat Duke by 20 already. That said, we have our work cut out for us, but we seem to have changed the momentum some we just can't let up late in the game and have to figure out how to beat the press.

One other thing - maybe that BTT game got it out of their system......one could only hope.....plenty of film study for improvement.

I think it's ultimately going to come down to them hitting enough shots from outside. We shall see.

I think we are in a really difficult bracket. Last year the committee sort of paved our way to the Final 4 and we get tripped up by St Pete. This year, after the first game, we will earn everything we get.

You never know what will happen with the bracket. On paper, last year - that looked very tough. Baylor (1)/Kentucky (2), UNC (8)........Texas in 2nd round......then it broke wide open.

Great opportunity - we shall see if they're up for it.

That 8/9 game winner is going to be super tough. Purdue will be fortunate to get out of the first weekend. Refs will swallow whistle probably and let the other team beat the crap out of the Purdue players.

Also super happy Rutgers didn't get in! No respect for their coach and I hate Mulkey with a passion. I wonder if Mulkey is jumping up and down wining like a drama queen as hard right now as he was during the BTT game? Have fun in the NIT boys!

X-factor David Jenkins, knows this is his last chance to shine
X-factor Fletcher Loyer, can he recapture his beginning of the year shot
X-Factor Brandon Newman, he's gotten better towards the end of the year, can he blow up in the tourney
